Mum Didn't Know She Was Pregnant Until She Gave Birth to TWINS

A young mum only learned she was pregnant when she gave birth to twins in her bathroom after getting up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Beth Bamford, 21, from Staffordshire, claims she had no idea she was pregnant because she was still having her periods, and had attributed her weight gain to simply ‘fat’, shares Daily Mail.

Beth, who is already mother to three-year-old Elsa-Mae and two-year-old Alivia, gave birth to 5lb 10oz daughter Willow as boyfriend Andy Morris, 22, lay sound asleep.

Terrified, she called for an ambulance and emergency services to take her through pushing out the afterbirth, but before they arrived Willow’s twin Freya arrived, weighing 5lb 1oz.

Beth had visited her doctor numerous times thinking she was ill but neither the mum nor her doctors realised it was because she was pregnant.

She claims she showed no signs of pregnancy because she was still having her periods, was not eating any more than usual and put the small amount of weight gain down to ‘fat’.

Doctors believe Beth was around 37 weeks pregnant when she gave birth to the non-identical twins on February 21.

What a shock!

Apparently my Mum wasn’t very big when she was pregnant with me. Her normal Dr. was away and she saw a relief doctor. He asked what he could do for her. She was 7 months pregnant and he didn’t notice anything.

Wow, that’s amazing! I think I’d have fainted if this happened to me. I must say though, if she was feeling ill I am surprised the doctors did not order blood tests and discover the pregnancy this way.

OMG, this is amazing and equally shocking. I can’t imagine not knowing you’re pregnant with twins, but as she said the normal signs weren’t there. She did all the right things by going to her Dr several times, and I cannot believe it was not picked up. The shock, and how unprepared she would be for another two babies for me would be the hardest part. She didn’t get to enjoy the pregnancy she didn’t know she was experiencing!

Oh wow, bless her and her little brood. I was pretty big when I was pregnant with my twins but a friend who was pregnant at the same time around the same gestation was about the same size! I guess some people hide those big bellies well. How sad though, she couldn’t even enjoy her pregnancy.

Wow, I honestly don’t understand how she didn’t know she was pregnant, especially with twins but it has been known to happen. What a shock though to go through.

It’s obviously uncommon, but it does happen. Not sure how people can be so doubtful about it?
