A so called “teacher’s aides” rant about ‘scabby parents who shop at Kmart and feed their kids home brand food’ has angered mums and dads across the nation.

The Australian woman, who has no children, began the controversial post with ‘Parenting 101… mothers who shop at Kmart or Big W or even worse Reject Shop or salvos disgust me and don’t deserve children’.

The woman claimed to work alongside children as a teacher’s aide, shares Daily Mail.  (I personally am calling TROLL!)

‘Pathetic mummies sending their feral mutts to school with no name Kmart shoes and 2nd hand uniforms and even worse home brand food.

‘It’s putrid and scabby and if you can’t afford brand named food or clothing you’re a failure of as a parent and should never of had children in the first place.

‘Yes good parents and teachers and school staff notice and talk about how scabby parents like this are.

‘When I have a child it will only have the best of everything because I will love and care for my child unlike you feral scabby excuses for parents,’ she wrote.

get it off your chest

The woman soon deleted her post from the Get it off your chest FB group as well as her Facebook account, but somebody managed to take a screenshot of the original post which continues to raise eyebrows.

The closed group is a place people go to share things that are really bothering them. This woman obviously thought it was a safe place to go and share her grievance. Boy was she wrong!

You can imagine the horrified comments from parents.  (check them out here)

I am still saying it’s a troll. Surely nobody would be that rude?!

  • What a silly thing to say.
Sounds like a troll to me

  • Ignorant comments made by an attention seeker! I think it’s more important to raise kids with good manners than brand names!

  • Well I hope when she has children she can afford to do what she says … if not I hope she remembers what she said ..
Just because you lavish your kids with brand names and the best of everything does not mean you love them any more …

  • Even if it is a troll somebody probably doesn’t know that generic brand food and other items are made by well known companies and put in differently labelled packaging such as Coles, Woolworths, Black & Gold etc.

    • Exactly! I thought this was well known amongst anyone who manages a budget and makes purchases for a household.

  • Sad Troll with no life ….. !!

  • Sad that anyone would work in an educational setting with children and parents and have this outlook. 🙁 I am thankful that I have a positive and non judgmental attitude towards people and do not judge people according to where they shop and what they eat. What is the problem with these shops and with home brand products anyway?

  • Not everyone has a full appreciation of the cost of raising a family or even the sacrifice of losing an income in those early years and supporting not just oneself but a whole family unit.

Can we chalk it up to simply being naive?

  • Troll or not it’s sad someone would even think this up to write. Parents who have their children in loving homes and hug them with loving arms will always be far more important than anything money can buy.

  • My kids wears op shop clothes and eats home brand food… but at least I’m not such a total loser I have nothing better to do with my time than create rubbish like that to provoke complete strangers online.

  • Thanks, Myrlie, to clarify it really was a troll.

  • Would have to be a troll! Surely no one could really be this ignorant and downright rude!

  • Certainly a controversial post. This person sounds a bit unbalanced.

  • Not ‘should not of’, it’s ‘should not have’! I’d rather have my children wear Kmart clothing than be taught by someone who can’t get that right ????

  • I bet she won’t have her job for much longer!

  • A very rude and horrible person l must say!

  • my kids have brand name clothes that I got from the op shop! The food we get is based on flavour not brand name, I find what I like and I stick to it. This person is a disgrace and hopefully dealt with appropriately

  • If she is really a teacher’s aide, then she needs to learn how to write correct, grammatical English. When she can do that, she can criticise others.

  • It was a troll. She later replied saying she is not a teachers aid. Also who cares if you dress your kid in designer clothing or Kmart, it will all get destroyed while they are having fun. If any teacher truly thought like that, I’d be ensuring my student had nothing to do with her

  • If she’s a troll, then ignore her post and move on. If she really is a teacher’s aide, maybe she shouldn’t be around children. She certainly doesn’t seem very compassionate.

  • I can’t believe this is true. Somebody is not a good parent, because they don’t buy branded food or clothing? How absurd is that???
