  • I absolutely adore eating apple and cinnamon and sultanas and this is a sweet and delicious breakfast treat to make and to eat. It is so good when served with thick and creamy yoghurt. It is a good breakfast to make on the weekend and follow up with a long walk!

  • I can just smell this cooking! Can’t you smell it? Oh my. I’m not sure I could have this for breakfast, it maybe a little too sweet, but it would definitely be great for a dessert or an afternoon yummy treat. This is definitely one to keep in the winter recipe section.

  • Lol, you might as well eat apple pie for breakfast. With the addition of sultana’s and cinnamon, I would never add sugar as well; that would be good for deliberately creating a sweet tooth. Sultana’s & cinnamon makes it sweet enough. All with all, too sweet for the start of the day. Actually almond butter with a couple of slices of fresh and crispy apple would be sweet enough :)

  • I found this too sweet for my preference but what I did was add ricotta and it was a winner Added texture and the taste was fantastic and NOT too sweet.

  • What a simple idea to make a yummy breakfast. I would not have thought of this at all. It’s made up of things that most people would have in their kitchen, so would be pretty easy to give a go. Thank you for such a great little meal idea :)

  • These look really good. I’d probably leave the sultanas out because I hate them. But this is totally something I would make for a family get together. I would absolutely put some rhubarb in there for my mum, and do a banana and Nutella one for the kids. Maybe even a peanut butter and nutella one.

  • I love the apple and cinnamon combination – it’s such a wonderful flavour. I’d probably eat this on toast for an afternoon snack! And I can see my kids getting into the topping without any base at all.

  • The Apple Cinnamon Brekkie recipe offers a quick and comforting breakfast option with classic flavors that are well-loved. However, while the method is simple, it lacks detail in areas that could elevate the dish. For instance, specifying the apple preparation (e.g., peeled, chopped) and offering an alternative to microwaving, such as stovetop cooking, could appeal to a wider audience. The use of almond butter adds a nice touch of creaminess, but more topping suggestions, like crushed nuts or a drizzle of honey, would enhance its versatility. Tip Top Thins are promoted well as a base, but suggestions for alternative bread types could add more inclusivity. Overall, this recipe is a solid, soul-warming idea but could benefit from more refinement and options to cater to diverse tastes and preferences.

  • What a wonderful way to eat apples, plenty of fibre and goodness yet still delightful as a breakfast. It is so nice on Tip Top Thins or on one’s breakfast porridge if you have more time up your sleeve to be able to make up a small porridge batch to go with it.
