You can use 2 minute noodles in place of the soup, just break the noodles up.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 500g Beef Mince
  • 1 (45g) Packet Chicken noodle soup
  • 3 cups Hot Water
  • 1/2 Tsp Curry Powder
  • 3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons uncooked rice
  • 1/2 Cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup sliced beans
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • dash Salt & Pepper
  • 1 cup Peas (optional)

Method

  1. Brown the mince in a large pan
  2. Add the water & soup and bring to the boil
  3. Add all other ingredients and simmer until the vegetables are tender

  • This certainly sounds remarkably easy to make, especially in light of the number of ingredients. I don’t cook much chinese food – I do like it, but it often seems to involve a bit of stirring, and I’m not great with standing for long periods. This is a recipe I could make.

  • Chinese food can be so tasty and simple to make. A lot of these dishes can also be very healthy if you make it right. I love a good noodle dish and these can be so easy make when you are time poor. I am not a huge fan of cabbage but in a dish like this with all the different flavours it is quite yum.
