These chicken and bacon pasties are very easy to make and taste delicious hot or cold. I always make extra as they can be added to lunchboxes, I serve for dinner with coleslaw and salad. I make a selection of sizes small for kids large for adults.

Ingredients (makes 12 Pasties)

  • 5 Chicken thighs
  • few dollops of Cream
  • 1-2 pkt Chicken soup
  • Pkt Diced Bacon or cut your own
  • Pkt Puff pastry
  • Pinch Garlic, salt, pepper

Method

  1. Dice chicken in to small pieces fry with bacon in a pan with a little garlic.
  2. Add cream and packets of soup to make a pie consistency. Stir well once cooked allow to cool a little.
  3. Cut pastry in to triangles to whatever size you prefer. Spoon mixture in seal and put on a oven tray covered with grease proof paper and sprayed with oil. Spray oil over individual pastie and cook in moderate oven till golden.

  • I’m certainly going to try these served with vegetables in the colder weather

  • Wow, these look good. Would prefer chicken breast to thigh, but either way, I want one now!

    • I do use breast sometimes but find thigh doesn’t dry out as much

  • yum i would love to try these. do they freeze ok? i would love to try to freeze them

    • I can’t see why not, I’d say you would have to reheat in oven to keep it crispy

      • oh ok thanks for that tip. i would love to keep it crispy. i was wondering about making these to freeze for christmas but maybe i will just make them the day before and then cook them up.

  • Thanks so much – I just made these! I’ve never made anything like them before and they turned out well. I left the rest to get a little more golden brown than this one. Taste great, and 4/5 of family ate them so a big win (the other is a fussy 4 year old)
