A winner for parties, and fun to make!

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 2-3 packs tea biscuits
  • 470ml heavy cream
  • 300g sweetened condensed milk
  • 2-3 tbsp Nescafe (instant coffee powder)
  • 1 1/2 cup hot water
  • Cocoa powder for garnish
  • Nestle chocolate syrup

Method

  1. Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold condensed milk into the cream.
  2. Mix hot water and coffee powder. Dip biscuits in coffee mixture until soaked and arrange on the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Repeat until you have a layer of cookies on the bottom.
  3. Spread a thin layer of cream on top. Drizzle Nestle chocolate syrup.
  4. Repeat until there are at least three layers of biscuit, cream. End the last layer with cream and do not top with sauce. Instead dust on cocoa powder. Use a doily to get a pattern on top.
  5. Chill overnight or for 4 hours and enjoy!

  • This looks delicious and easier to make than a tiramisu. I might substitute the instant coffee for Italian coffee though. But being only tea biscuits which are quite thin I wonder how many layers would need to be done to get a bit of height in the cake. I have seen the doily trick around.

  • I made this today, bit used cocoa powder and water instead of coffee as not all my children like coffee. It was a hit with many more hits to come from it. Thank you for sharing your lovely recipe.
