Its one of the family favourites
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 4 medium to large potatoes
- 2 cups grated cheese
- 1 cup cream
- sprinkle parmesan cheese
Method
- Peel and slice potatoes into 1 cm slices Steam the potatoes for approx 10 minutes or till 3/4 cooked Allow potatoes to cool slightly, to make them easier to handle.
- Layer potatoes into a baking dish On top of the first layer, add some grated cheese enough to cover the potatoes Add another layer of potatoes, add some more grated cheese, Pour the cream over this layer, try and make sure you cover as much as possible with the cream Add another layer of potato and cheese Sprinkle top with some parmesan will help get that golden crisp on top
- Bake in the oven at 180 deg for approx 20 mins or until cheese has melted to a nice golden crust. Serve with roasted meats, steaks, chops or sausages, it works with most meats.
