Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chopped Dates
  • 1 tsp Bi Carb of Soda
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 3/4 cup Castor Sugar
  • 1 Beaten Egg
  • 2 cups Self Raising Flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence

Method

  1. Cover dates, butter, bi carb with the water.
  2. When cool, add sugar, beaten egg, flour and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Cook in a bar tin, in a moderate oven (180 degrees) for approx 45min.
