A summer favourite in our house, so easy and suited for everyone's taste

Ingredients (serves 3)

  • 1 Pizza base
  • 3tbl spoons Sun dried tomato pesto
  • 200g Shredded ham
  • 200g Grated cheese
  • 1/2 Brown onion
  • 12 Pitted Kalmata olives
  • 3 Shredded basil leaves

Method

  1. Select your pizza base, (I cheat and use a stone fired pre-made base from our grocer), spread evenly with tomato pesto
  2. Finely dice your brown onion and add this to your base
  3. Toss cheese, olives, ham and basil together in a bowl, you can add a little mixed herbs here if you want a bit more 'spice' then add to your pizza base
  4. Bake in a moderate oven until cheese has the desired golden brown look you want, or try baking in a hooded BBQ upon a Firestone with a packet of smoking wood chips for extra flavour!

Notes

Pizzas are a good way to involve the kids in preparing a meal, you can literally make them as simple or complex as you like!

  • Without olives this is one of my favorite pizzas. And you’re right, it’s pretty popular with almost everyone. A great pizza to have on hand if you’re not sure of someone’s preferences. And it’s very easy to add extras or even leave them off if someone is vegetarian. Thanks for the reminder.
