Absolutely delicious served on toast or roti bread that can be eaten for breakfast/brunch or even lunch.


Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 1 can baked beans
  • Half onion
  • 1 tspn cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tspn tumeric powder
  • 1 tspn Garam masala
  • Half bunch coriander
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  1. Heat oil. Add chopped onion. Sauté for 2-3 mins until golden
  2. Add in cumin seeds and stir then immediately add in the ginger garlic paste
  3. Add in all the spices - tumeric and garam masala. Stir for 30 seconds
  4. Add can of baked beans and stir.:
  5. Add 1/3 cup of water and stir through. Simmer on medium for 1-2 mins
  6. Serve with freshly chopped coriander

  • Sounds lovely, but I can’t imagine eating all these spices in the morning although there was a time in my life I used to cook a hot meal for breakfast
