Fish in a zesty italian thick sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 kg white fish, eg hake
  • flour
  • salt
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 lemons, sliced thinly
  • 1 1/4 cups Italian dressing

Method

  1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees. Mix the flour and salt and coat the fish in it. Put fish in a shallow baking dish.
  2. Put lemon slices on top of the fish, then sprinkle with onion slices.
  3. Pour dressing over the fish.
  4. Bake fish uncovered for 45 minutes.

Notes

Great served with steamed rice. Dressing and flour will create a thickened sauce whilst baking.

  • This sounds great. I really enjoy fish – pretty handy as it’s generally quite healthy – but I prefer very light sauces. This sounds just perfect, not too heavy. And easy too, that’s always a winner. admittedly I am not very good at cooking fish from scratch – I usually use frozen.
