If you’re looking for a healthier sweet to bring to Christmas lunch, try this recipe from leading dietitian Susie Burrell, made for Mayver’s.

The great thing about this recipe is you can make it as healthy as you like with added goodness like Mayver’s Peanut Butter, nuts, pretzels and different festive berries!

Ingredients (serves 25 | makes 25 servings)

  • 200g dark or milk chocolate
  • 200g white chocolate
  • 1 cup Mayver's Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup pistachios
  • 1/2 cup low sugar cranberries
  • 1 cup pretzels

Method

  1. Melt chocolate over low heat. Stir in peanut butter.
  2. Pour into baking tray lined with baking paper.
  3. Top with a mix of cranberries, pretzels and pistachios.
  4. Allow to set in fridge for 2-3 hours. Then break and serve.

  • I don’t like peanut butter, I wonder if other nut butter would work?

  • Thanks for the recipe – but I would have to find something else as the peanut butter ingredient is something I really couldn’t eat, and it is the major ingredient in this recipe. Over to you Susie Burrell, what else could I substitute?

  • This looks so wonderful, but what can be used instead of peanut butter for those of us with children who cannot have this. I assume that the peanut butter helps make the base that everything else goes onto. Hope to hear from soon about this as I’d love to make it.

  • I made some bark with my kids you can use pretty much anything. The kids used some different lollies on theirs and I used some freeze dried raspberries among other things on the adult ones.
