This wreath is one of those recipes you can rely on when you need something festive but don’t have the time or headspace for complicated prep – it literally takes five minutes!

Everything starts with a creamy base made from cream cheese, sour cream and cream cheese spread, which gives you a smooth mix that blends in seconds. A squeeze of lemon or lime brightens it up, and if you want it a bit heartier, stirring through some chopped boiled eggs works really well. It’s simple, tasty and ready almost as soon as you start.

We’re proudly working with IGA to bring you this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tubs cream cheese
  • 1/2 tub sour cream
  • 1 jar cream cheese spread
  • 1 lemon juiced (or two limes)
  • boiled, chopped eggs (optional - for a bit of substance)
  • salt & pepper

Method

  1. Put all ingredients (except the boiled eggs) into a blender and combine well.
  2. Stir in the chopped boiled eggs
  3. Spoon onto a serving platter in the shape of a wreath (or you could even put this in a spring form tin and chill in which case it will set in the fridge and then you can remove the tin and garnish)
  4. Decorate with fresh herbs, sliced baby tomatoes and chilli Feel free to get creative with this & you can pretty much put whatever you like on top & go crazy! You could add sliced black olives, black and red caviar, sliced baby cucumbers, crushed pistachios, little rounds of smoked salmon & whatever feels like Christmas to you.

  • Thanks again for this scrumptious looking recipe. Along with serving up a variety of vegetable sticks with this wreath; an assortment of crackers, crisp breads and fresh bread would be so good too. This wreath would be so good as part of a savoury platter and I suspect would be eaten quickly.

  • Thanks so very much for sharing this recipe. I am a huge fan of dairy foods and this recipe sounds terrific and the wreath looks so delicious. I will give the boiled eggs a miss in the recipe and will add some extra seasoning. This recipe would be so good served with lots of crunchy vegetable sticks.

  • Although im not a big fan of cream cheese, i love the look of this recipe. I would probably replace it and do the same thing but with meringues with some fresh fruit around. It would be just as beautiful im sure! Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe with us too!

  • I would like to try this savoury Christmas wreath as it brings together some of my absolute favourite ingredients in one dish. The richness of cream cheese paired with the tang of sour cream and citrus sounds perfectly balanced to me, while salt and pepper keep it savoury. Adding chopped eggs gives it substance, making it ideal for sharing. It feels perfect for a Christmas table.

  • I’m not too sure about this one? Is it a savoury wreath to have with carrot sticks or crackers? Looks impressive though. But there’s a lot of heavy ingredients here. The flavour is quite plain, I feel. I don’t know if I would make this personally. A bit costly too.

  • I like the idea of a savoury Christmas wreath, but looking to the ingredients I somewhat doubt how savoury this Christmas wreath is as the ingredients are all quite bland. But maybe you just need to be generous with the salt and pepper ? The recipe doesn’t clarify how many boiled eggs are used ?
