Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Puff Pastry, thawed
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 500 grams Beef Mince
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1tsp Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Grated or Frozen Vegetables
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 cup Grated Cheese

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180. Heat oil in a pan. Add meat, onion and garlic. Cook until meat is browned. Remove from heat, drain any excess liquid. Add vegetables, tomato sauce, seasoning and cheese. Mix well.
  2. Place 1 sheet of pastry in a pie dish. Top with filling. Place remaining pastry on top. Press edges together.
  3. Cut a vent in the top. Bake in oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Use a variety of sauces for different flavours.

  • Your little ones may not like it to start until they adjust to the strong flavour of onion and garlic together. With the pepper as well, it may not be suitable for people with digestion problems. I don’t think a young baby would like the side affects of that combination in you breastmilk either.
