This is another one of my richest chocolate brownie! Hubby didn't know there were kidney beans in there. He thought it was pure buttery and rich!

Ingredients (makes 12 )

  • 1 can Kidney beans (drained)
  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 150gm Chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Method

  1. Combined all ingredients except walnuts and chocolate chips in a food processor and process until smooth.
  2. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased baking pan.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes on 200C in a preheated oven. Serve warm with ice cream!

  • Wow I bet that would make the cake very moist indeed and be a different texture. I don’t like Kidney beans on their own so might have to give this a go.

  • This recipe is great. Exactly the type of cooking I like to experiment with. My family is used to me asking “what’s the secret ingredient?” . So often, they can’t taste the super healthy addition and are amazed at what I can hide in something delicious.

  • Well I never thought to see a chocolate cake with kidney beans in it, but I’ve made a chocolate cake with beetroot in it, so I’ll have to give this a go. Would certainly be different.
