Simply easy meal . And super tasty.
Best served with mashed potatoes or rice.


Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 lamb shanks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large peeled onions
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 cups beef consomme
  • 3/4 cup red wine
  • 1/3 honey
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Method

  1. Brown lamb shanks and onion.
  2. Add all ingredients in to the slow cooker and cook for 6 hours
  3. Serve and enjoy. Add rosemary to garnish.

  • I have never had much luck with cooking this cut of meat, but perhaps doing it in the slow cooker would produce a better result. It certainly sounds both tasty and pretty easy. The only thing is that it sounds like it would be great with roast veggies, but the oven won’t be on….
