  • Earth Choice Dishwashing Detergent Sheets Review

When buying Earth Choice Dishwashing Detergent Sheets I was so enthusiastic about the positive environmental impact. They are environmentally friendly and come in a plastic-free packaging that’s 100% recyclable!! Felt so good using something that was also better for the environment!! They certainly did the trick without the harsh residue from other top brands in the supermarket. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!!!!

  • Happily surprised!

I was given a chance to try the Earth Choice dishwasher sheets. I love the Earth Choice brand with their other products, so felt it was a brand I could trust. I was skeptical about how this product would perform compared to usual dishwashing products but was pleasantly surprised. Dissolved completely, no residue, clean dishes. Keen to purchase again sometime.

  • Fantastic!

I'd never heard of dishwasher sheets but was curious to try. These Earth Choice dishwasher sheets are conveniently pre-measured which means less product wasted with a heavy handed pour of other conventional dishwasher powders. The sheets are perforated which means it's easy to use half a sheet for lighter loads, again saving on product used and money spent. The dishes come out clean with no food or soap residue. I do find they take longer to dry so I leave the dishwasher closed for longer after the cycle is complete. Overall a great new product.

  • Brilliant

Absolutely marvellous, cleans dishes ( and I didn't even rise them) and left no grit or food behind. I have tried many brands and this is my favourite. Easy to use too.

  • Great results

This review was great we have thought about using but never took the leap. It took a whild for our store to have them in stock but finally got them.

The sheets have cleaned the dishes so well even with some stuck on food.

The only issue we have had was its leaving the dishes a little more wet than normal.

I have used also to soak the baked on food on ceramic dished and once in the sink for an hour or 2 they wipe clean.

Will definitely be on the re purchase list.

  • Eco friendly wash

I liked this product and never knew until recently about sheets. I have used other products from Ecostore. Sheets are easy to use full or in half. Throw it and close the dish washer. All done and wait for the finish cycle to be over. Comes out clean. Have been using this regularly now and love the dishes after the wash.

  • Environment-Friendly Dishwashing Detergent Sheets That Work

I love Earth Choice products and have been a long time happy user of many of them and their dishwashing detergent sheets did not let me down.

The product is conveniently premeasured into 35 sheets. They are perforated down the middle to make for easy tearing, if only wanting to use half a sheet, which is recommended for small dishwashers. I only used a half sheet in my dishwasher drawer. The box says it is not recommended for dishwasher drawers, but I am not sure why, as it worked fine. I checked a few minutes after starting the dishwasher and the sheet, which I placed in the cutlery basket, had dissolved and there were lots of suds. Using half a sheet means one box will last for 70 washes, which is quite economical, especially compared to dishwasher tablets.

I love that the product is vegan and cruelty free, which is essential to me. Plus, it is environment-friendly, having an Australian Standards biodegradable formula, contains no harsh chemicals of phosphates, chlorine bleach, dye and fluorescers. Also, there is zero waste, as only the plastic-free box remains after the end of use, which can be recycled. Earth Choice being an Australian company is an added bonus.

  • Eco friendly dishwasher sheets

I am on septic and grey water tanks so was very excited to try the Earth Choice Dishwashing Sheets to keep these tanks healthy

Easily packaged and they also smelled very nice. Having to put them at the bottom of the dishwasher was very easy.

Dishes came out perfect. Highly recommend

  • Amazing product!

These sheets really surprised my family! My 15 year old son is the dishwasher loader and at first he was skeptical that the dishes would come out food free, but they came out fresh and sparkling. Even the pans! We also used them in the sink to wash dishes and a half a sheet works wonders for that! Smells lovely too so big tick for the light scent as usually I’m very sensitive to scents. my sensitive skin also did not react to the product. I would definitely buy these again , perhaps more so if on special but if I can stretch these sheets to last up to 75 washes like the packet says then that’s a pretty good deal then!

  • On further use- not a fan

Initially used these sheets and quite liked how easy to use they were, and I thought they did a good job, but actually on further continued use I realised they have stained all the inside of my tea mugs, and often left food or stains on plates. I have been using them for handwashing but won’t be buying again!

  • Fantastic idea

I think the dishwasher sheets are such a good idea. I do believe they need a little more work before being perfect though. They fit perfect in the holder inside my dishwasher, I usually fold them in half and then in half again. They do not have a scent so the dishes do not come out smelling of any fragrance. The only down fall for me personally is that they do not fully dissolve. Once my dishwasher has finished its heavy cycle there is still atleast 3/4 of the sheet inside my dishwasher. I have to put it on again for a further 30 minutes so that dissolves.

  • Not worth the hype

We bought this as a recommendation from my Dad. We have tried it a few times, however they don't get the harder marks off. Some items were still left dirty. We then needed to re-wash the dishes for some. I wouldnt recommend this product sadly. Ended up needing to go to the shops to purchase something else.

  • Environmentally friendly

We've been using these for a month now and love that we have the option of a more environmentally friendly dishwashing soap! I recommend everyone give these a go - good for the environment and the pocket. We've experimented with using one sheet or half a sheet depending on the type of dishes we are washing. They do "wash" a little differently - possibly also because it's recommended to use them on wash cycles without prerinse - so I space the cutlery a little more and give the cutlery a little shake at the end to make sure it fully dries. It's worth making a few tweaks to use a healthier option!!

  • Convenient concentrated dishwashing sheets

I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of bubbles that were created with one sheet in my big sink. Perfect for my family who have a bio septic tank and can’t use any harsh chemicals.

  • Earth friendly alternative

We've been steadily working through our box of Earth Choice dishwashing sheets and have figured out a few tips and tricks! We still purchase tablets for heavy washes using rinse cycles, as the detergent sheets recommend using on cycles with no pre-rinse. We have been putting in a half sheet for "easy" washes and 2 sheets for messier washes, which has worked well. Definitely recommend everyone to try these out as an environmentally friendly option, they are so easy to store, the packaging is recyclable, they work a treat!

  • Clean dishes

Was very fortunate to be able to try the dishwashing detergent sheet. They were so handy and convenient to use. No fuss no mess. Dishes came out clean and very subtle scent and I was very happy with the result. It is a bit more costly that my usual powder but I am satisfied.

  • Great in the dishwasher too

I was really impressed with the Earth Choice Dishwashing sheets for handwashing, but wasn't sure how they would go in the dishwasher, particularly with bowls and plates that had been sitting there for a few days. We always set it going before bed, so I had to wait until the next morning to see how it went. Dishes were clean and glasses didn't have any dirty residue or smearing. Brilliant!

  • Skeptical at first but it works!

As a family of five living on 10 acres and running on tank water, we’re always mindful about what we use in our home. Anything harsh or wasteful just doesn’t work for us – especially with our septic system and our goal of keeping things environmentally friendly.

I was honestly skeptical at first about Earth Choice Dishwashing Detergent Sheets, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. They dissolve easily, are mess-free, and actually get the dishes clean – which is saying something in our house because we make a lot of dirty dishes (our kids definitely love to eat!).

I really appreciate that they’re plant-based, biodegradable, septic-safe, and come in plastic-free packaging. That ticks a lot of boxes for us, especially since we try to avoid plastics on our property and need products that are gentle on our drains and system.

So far, they’ve worked really well on everyday dishes. I’m looking forward to testing them out on tougher, baked-on messes – but for now, I’d definitely use and buy them again.

  • So far so good!

I’ve used these a couple of times now and am impressed on how they clean. No food remnants left on cutlery or utensils (is often an issue for me) and everything comes up clean and sparkly! Only thing is that they don’t get rid of tea stains from mugs so I’ll need to re wash those mugs but that’s not a deal breaker! I’m always pretty sceptical about these sheet cleaners and I’m very pleased

  • It's okay

These sheets didn't clean as good as I thought it would when used in the dishwashing machine. Some of my dishes came out dirty, which never happened when I used regular dishwashing pods. These sheets do however do work well as dishwashing liquid in the kitchen sink. The foam last long. There's no residue on the dishes that's washed in the kitchen sink. So I really like using it as such.

  • Wow, just put the sheet in the bottom of dishwasher

These sheets handled everything with ease, from greasy pans , school lunchboxes, glassware etc every load came out spotless, with no residue. Cleaning dishes that had sauce on them from the night before. They did a great job. Made with plant based ingredients,no plastic packaging and recyclable carton. I didn't expect such good results.

  • Innovative Australian Product

I was pleasantly impressed with the Earth Choice Dishwashing sheets. So quick and easy to use; taking the guess work out of my normal pouring powder into the cavity. Being a busy family I usually run my dishwasher when it’s completely full so I only used the full sheets. They dissolved well and left my dishes sparkling. I love that they’re biodegradable and the packaging is also recyclable. Thankfully no sticky or yucky residue. I preferred to use them in my dishwasher as I don’t hand wash that many dishes.

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • That lunchbox comparison table is handy to have. It helped me make a decision on which lunchbox to buy next for my daughter who is starting kindergarten. I needed to upgrade her lunchbox but wasn’t sure which way to go. The table helped me with my decision. I ended up going with the BBOX and have found a cheaper lunch bag from a department store that it fits in.

  • I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
