The smokin’ corn was a real hit with the kids! It was yummy and not too crunchy. The flavours of popcorn were a real hit and great portion sizes.. the apples and sultanas were a good little addition for that ‘something sweet’ in the afternoon… all in all, tasty little snacks. We would highly recommend all the products we reviewed!

So the opinions have come back (from adults and kids) on the taste of the air popped corn. There were 3 flavors included in the $5.99 10 pack: sea salt, cheesy and sweet and salty. The clear winner was: sea salt! Here is a summary of how the flavours stacked up.
1) Sea Salt – favorite among the kids and adults of the household; a clear winner; reminded us all of freshly made popcorn sizzling in the skillet!
2) Cheesy – it was a winner with the kids but the adults felt it tasted a bit “artificial”; reminiscent of heavily processed products from the 1980s
3) Sweet and salt – this was described by the kids as “odd” and “at first ok but then not”. The adults found that it reminded them of the sticky popcorn covered in caramel, but it wasn’t sticky! Then the salt kicked in and it was “really confusing”… then the sweetness overpowered everything once again and you could finish the portion!. This was the least favourite – especially for the kids – so it was a shame there were 4 packs of this one and 3 of the others.

Sultanas are always a bit in our household ! These are delicious great size , a little less apple and more sultanas would be super as my little miss 2 eats 2 packs in 1 sitting searching for more sultanas ????????. Definitely buy them in my weekly shop !! ????

We have family movie night on a Saturday with our 2 and 4 year olds. I always buy this popcorn as a movie snack as I know it’s healthy and the kids love the flavours. We also have a stash of sultanas and apples in the pantry as they make a great snack for around the house or on the run. Great products!

My son loves the contents of these little boxes. Only $1.95 for a pack of six, they were a tasty addition to his lunch bag. The dried apples added some variation in texture and taste to a popular sultana snack.

We had a lot of fun trying these products. The air popped corn was definitely the favourite with the kids, followed closely by the dried fruit, but I loved having the crunchy lunchbox snacks for my lunch box as well! Definitely have all these on the shopping list to purchase again!

I tried the snacks with my kids so I knew what they were eating, and could understand why they liked them, or didn’t.
Cheeky Chickpeas
They smell very earthy. There is a slight pepperinesson the tongue. Unfortunately the texture os similar to chewing on wood. The flavour is not pleasant. The kids did not like them at all. They all spat them out.
EDA-Yummy Mix
It smells fairly salty. The flavour is similar to popcorn. Each piece has a slightly different texture, which is pleasant. Some bits are quite hard. Miss 10 said she would eat them again. It’s similar to eating uncooked pasta.
Smokin’ Corn
Has a similar texture to rice crackers. The smell is like plain rice crackers, as is the after taste. Not for those who do not like BBQ flavouring.
Cheese Popcorn
It has a very strong cheese smell and flavour, similar to cheese twisties. The pop corn was quite chewy. Miss 4 was thrilled, Miss 10 and Master 12 would eat them again.
Sea Salt Popcorn
Plain, unbuttered popcorn, the salt was minimal. Miss 4 enjoyed it. Miss 10 and Master 12 said it was “too plain”.
Sweet and Salty Popcorn
The first taste is just sweetness, then the salty shimmies in. Just enough salt to make the sweetness unpleasant. The kids all enjoyed it. It has an artificial sweetner after taste deapite the ingredients stating sugar.
Saltanas and Apple
Good ratio of apple to saltanas. The apple is in small cubes, making them a good size for little people. The flavours work well together. The packet was a bit too big for Miss 4, but was a good size for Miss 10 and Master 12. I’m not convinced the addition of canola oil was necessary.
Over all we had some fairly mixed reviews. The popcorns were a definite winner, but the Crunchy Snacks were not…

My 2 kids loved the popcorn and sultanas & apple and keep asking for more more! I found the popcorn a bit lacking in flavour myself, especially the sea salt and sweet and salty. Cheese flavour was definitely the kids favourite.
Can’t really go wrong with sultanas and apple, they’re pretty much the same whatever the brand.
I didn’t think I could get them to try the chickpeas or corn kernels, but they did and while their mouths said “I like them” their faces said the complete opposite! I gave them a couple more and afterwards they had a big drink of water to wash away the taste. I tried them too and honestly wouldn’t purchase them again, they’re not the snacks for us.

Macro Cheeky Chickpeas - A Nice Snack More Suited to Adults
When my kids first tried these they thought they were tasty but after having a few they felt a spicy aftertaste in their mouths which turned them off the snack completely. I tried then and thought the seasoning was really nice but after a few had the same aftertaste my kids felt. I didn’t mind it and continued to eat them. I thought they were a great snack but just not sure that they’re suited to kids unless they have developed a palette accustomed to spice.

Today we had the challenge of choosing lunchbox snacks from the new range. The kids were so excited to get some popcorn and quickly became curious about the other choices. Smokin’ Corn was more popular with their dad but Master 9 and Miss 2 both discovered they liked the chickpeas and edamame. We agree there’s too much apple in the sultana mix, but liked the variety. What a relief to have some new options! Everyone has been very excited by this project. The popcorn was the big favourite but I was surprised to see Miss 2 heading back for seconds of the chickpeas. I’ll definitely be exploring Woolworths snack range more throughly.

I have to say I now have a few new items to add to lunchboxes that my boys are happy to eat. The popped corn goes straight away as doez the dried fruit. They’re still getting use to the chickpeas but they are loving the new additions over all and I’m happy because they are healthy and ready to go. Thank you Woolworths.

My kids absolutely all these products! I easily used a bag of each of the popcorn/chick peas between my 2 kids so they are also great value for money. I will definitely be purchasing all of these products in the future. The only negative I can think of it that the chick peas weren’t available in bigger bags to purchase.

These products help add a wider variety to my children’s lunch boxes, convenience of single serve packets where great and my kids where willing to give them a try, some definitely come out on top of others. The crunchy lunch pack would be better if they come in a multi variety pack instead of just single serve packs

I was unable to locate the crunchy snacks or sultanas so could only try the pop corn. My 2 year old loved the sea salt flavour and they are a great addition for an occasional treat. Good value at only 60cents a pack and quite a large serving.

This a great concept. The popcorn was a winner, though my children weren’t really a fan of the chickpeas, and the dried fruit was there and there. For them unfortunately it was really a winner but I thought they were a great tasting snack (it’s not about what I like though)

Air Popped Corn- These were a huge hit, normally I just buy plain popcorn for the kids school lunches but after testing these out I will definitely be buying them again, the kids loved the different flavours and were literally begging me to buy more at the end of the week.
Crunchy Lunchbox Snacks- These were a half half response to these, the older kids loved the smoked corn but weren’t keen on the Eda-Yummy Mix or Cheeky Chickpeas.
Sultanas & Apples -These were a hit! Kids have requested to me to buy more and will happily do so! I had to hide a box so I could have a try and now I know why they were gone so quickly, so juicy and a healthy, sweet snack for on the go!!

Our family consists of 2 adults and 3 children, our youngest doesn’t like eating real food right now haha so he sat this one out! My other 2 children are 8 & 7 and loved doing this!
Ok so knowing my girls probably wouldn’t like the Macro Cheeky Chickpeas, we tried this first. I was right. It definitely wasn’t a hit in our family, but we don’t normally eat these kinds of foods. They didn’t really seem to know how to take it. The adults thought they tasted pretty good, and would most likely have again, but it was a definite no for the kids. Just not a familiar flavour.
We all loved the Woolworths Sultanas & Apple packs. They came in a 6pk which was really convenient for school lunches. My kids absolutely love sultanas, and the addition of apple just made it better for them. This is a definite addition in our lunch boxes and will be for some time.
I’ve left the Air popped corn for last as it had the most mixed reviews between us all. It comes in a 10 pk for $5.99 if I remember correctly and contains 3 flavours. Sea Salt, Cheesy and Sweet & Salty.
My husband loves all things popcorn so absolutely loved all of it, and pretty much ate all of the Sweet & Salty himself! The kids and I didn’t like this one at all, it just had a weird lingering taste effect and it was hard to distinguish what it tasted like. Not a fan of this one. Would prefer if there were more of the other two flavours. We all loved the Sea Salt one, it tasted the most like good old fashion popcorn and was a huge hit, didn’t take too long for us to finish these! We are of mixed opinion about the Cheesy flavour. I didn’t like this one at all, it just tasted fake, artificial to me, but my hubby and kids loved it, so i’d say it was a winner too.
We would definitely buy the Air Popped Corn pk again, and also the Woolworths Sultana & Apples, very clear winners in my house! Healthy, filling options for our lunch boxes! Thanks Woolies and Mouth of Mums for allowing us to review these snacks!

The opinions on the taste of the $1 crunchy lunchbox snacks have come back! The kids think they are winners. I’d have liked more ‘curry/spicy punch’ to the chickpeas and I wasn’t too keen on the corn or yummy mix either – would have preferred a simple spice like cumin or just sea salt to have been added, but as a lunch box snack that the whole family can enjoy they are great.

‘They Taste Amazing, I’ll Definitely Be Stocking Up Again’
Having three young kids, juggling their commitments and her own as a school teacher means Kristie Young’s days revolve around snacking on-the-go.
