Introducing a brand new range of bottles from Philips Avent …

The new Natural range of bottles from Philips Avent has been designed and developed with scientists, healthcare professionals and most importantly mums, to give you and your baby the most comfortable and natural feeding experience.  Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding or both, the new Natural range from Philips Avent is designed with you in mind.

philips avent natural review

Philips Avent Natural Bottle … the natural way to bottle feed.

Developed with over 25 years of clinical collaboration with leading scientists and healthcare professionals, the Phillips Avent Natural bottle has been designed to facilitate the baby’s natural suckling behaviour and make it easier to combine breast and bottle feeding.

Unique comfort petals

Our new bottle has a socially designed, breast shaped teat for easy latch on, helping to combine breast and bottle feeding. The innovative teat incorporates specially designed soft comfort petals that increase flexibility and stretch of the teat preventing teat collapse, for a smooth, natural and uninterrupted feed.

Advanced anti-colic system

Unique comfort petals in the new Natural bottles soft silicone teat increase flexibility and stretch of the teat, preventing teat-collapse for a smooth, natural and uninterrupted feed. To make the bottle feeding experience closer to mum’s breast, the new advanced anti-colic Natural bottle not only prevents leaks, but also reduces discomfort for baby by venting air back into the bottle, rather than into the baby’s tummy through two high performance valves. Bottles in the Natural range are clinically proven to reduce colic. Available in 125ml & 260ml bottles.

  • Will never use another brand

I have used avent bottles for all 3 of my children. My 2 older ones I used the avent Classic bottles and with my baby now we are using the natural bottles. Avent is a brand that I would recommend to anyone. I have never had a problem with any of their products. If I was to have more children I would use them again.

10 years later and I still wear by avent. I have used avent bottles for all 3 of my children and if I were to have anymore I would use them again.

  • Life Saver!

These bottles are a life saver when it comes to the crunch. When my twins were about 4 months old I had an allergic reaction to some nuts I accidently ate and found myself in hospital for quite a few hours. Luckily my mum was able to look after my twins and feed them formula milk through my Philips Avent Natural Bottles I got given to me. I wasn't able to use my breast milk as I didn't want them to have a reaction as well, so the bottles were the next best thing. They accepted the teat easily and after that incident they went straight back to breast. I was able to use the bottles from them onwards for top up feeds with my express breast milk and daddy was able to help!

Thank you Philips Avent Natural Bottles

I'm a new mommy and I absolutely love these bottles! My baby is now three months old and he has never showed any signs of colic and sleeps extremely well, I think it has a lot to do with the type of bottles you use. I highly recommend these super cute natural bottles, they're the best!

  • Best bottle by far

I have tried multiple bottles including the Avent classic bottles and although the classic were great these are by far the best. They are so much easier to clean, the years are easier for newborns to latch on to and these don't have those blue rings!

My previous 2 children were on the classic and although they were good they didn't wow me, these have definitely got the wow factor and I would definitely recommend for every mum to use them.

  • Great products

Philipps advent for me is truly a hands down winner when it comes to baby products. I used these bottles combined with my breast pump and I was not at all sorry. They fit on the breast pump well, can store milk in the fridge/freezer for baby. The bottles sometimes leaked for my husband (just the operator? : )). Would fully recommend no hesitation here. The teats yellow after a while though.

  • Great Bottles

I stared out using the classic bottles and teets with my newborn as I was mixed feeding and purchased a kit however he had colic, once I switched teets and started using the natural teets he had little to no colic. I love the fact that they are interchangeable with the classic bottles too as I have been given a fair few but can use my favourite teets with them instead of waiting them.

  • Great bottle

Aren't bottles are great bottles and these ones are no exception. My first son would not take a bottle at all until he self weaned when I was pregnant with baby number two. So with my second whilst breastfeeding I made sure to introduce one bottle a day from day one. These were the bottles I chose and they've worked a treat. Thank-you

I bought a pack of the Avent Natural bottles when I was pregnant and definitely one of the best purchases I have made. The bottles are easy to use, easy to clean and bub is very comfortable using them. In addition, the bottles are easy to use in the Avent electric pump.

  • Best bottle EVER

I absolutely love these bottles! The unique nipple makes it so much easier for baby to take, and stops any real cause for nipple confusion! Baby hates using bottles normally, but with this one, he settled right into it with minimal fuss. The bottles are comfortable to hold, and don't leak, which is a fantastic achievement with my child! Bub also chews on most bottle teats, but didn't with this one. I think it is because of the shape and texture of it. It reminds him as much as possible, of Mama's breast, and so he is content to suckle from it. (For a little while.) :) I do recommend these bottles, I've noticed that Bub's reflux/spit up has been drastically reduced after drinking from these bottles. as opposed to different brands, so that's a definite bonus too! 2 thumbs up!

  • A brand you can trust

The Phillips Avent Natural bottles have been a part of my grandsons life since he was 2 weeks old and his mumma bear was unable to breastfeed any longer. The change over from breast to bottle went smoothly. They also fit the measured travel formula containers perfectly and these have been a lifesaver when out and about. I would recommend these to any new mum.

When a new mum asks my advice on feeding products and dummies my first answer is always Avent. They are simple, effective, well priced and safe for Bub. All Avent products are helpful with colic, don't leak and are easy to mix breast and bottle. I love the shape of these new bottles. My Bub took straight to them wth no issues or nipple confusion. Have used these bottles since newborn, my son in breastfed with bottle top ups. Have had no problem going between the two methods of feeding and I believe this is down to the design of this bottle. He seemed to quickly take to the bottle, its a fantastic design product which all mums should love. We have struggled at finding suitable bottles for awhile but these are certainly worth it. • Our favourite bottle yet

With 4 kids we have been through a lot of bottles. For my youngest the Avent Natural bottles were definitely our favourite. She was a fussy kid but she loved the Avent Natural bottles. They didn't leak, they were easy to use and assemble and easy to heat. The teats seemed to be the one my daughter preferred the most and we used only them until she weaned off bottles all together. I highly recommend them and they would be the first ones I would look at if I had another baby.

  • Easy to Attach, Suck and Clean/Sterilise

We used these bottle for my twin girls when they were little and will continue to use them when our son is born December this year. I definitely recommend to other mums and dads as it was one of the best bottles that we have used. It was easy for my girls to attach themselves to the teat and were able to suck easily. This was great as I was able to help my wife feed one of the twins while she breast fed the other. So the twins took in turns to switch between bottle and breast. Also never had a problem with leakage and really easy to clean and sterilize.

This little bottle has been great and last for ages without any sign of wear and tear. I have 3 kids and have used the avent range with all of them.Great bottle that work well with the whole Avent system. My husband finds them easy to feed with and I think they are prefect for expressing and feeding. It fits into all Avent products, I find it handy to express directly into, store and then feed all from the same bottle. Measurement are clear and easy to read. Shape of the bottle makes it easy to clean. Small size makes it great for storing small quantities of breast milk.

  • I really trust the AVENT brand!

Having had three kids, quite spaced out I couldn't keep everything from each pregnancy and child, so I had to often purchase from scratch - which is a good idea for bottles I suppose. I didn't start with AVENT, but once I moved to it, I repurchased for my other children. I also had the microwave steriliser which was fantastic. Whilst I didn't give my children bottle only feeds until they were 6 month or older, I still had to top up and give water from quite young. They were great for all ages, easy to grip, and the perfect shape! I would highly recommend them.

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • That lunchbox comparison table is handy to have. It helped me make a decision on which lunchbox to buy next for my daughter who is starting kindergarten. I needed to upgrade her lunchbox but wasn’t sure which way to go. The table helped me with my decision. I ended up going with the BBOX and have found a cheaper lunch bag from a department store that it fits in.

  • I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • So so many fantastic options! We use the montii co ones for our kdis and swear by it. Its lasted 3 years so far and still standing strong, like new since the first day using it. They are so durable and i find cleaning them to be the easiest for us.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
