  • Best sunscreen on the market

The only sunscreen I use now. I've got very fair skin that burns easily, and I have recently become very diligent with skin care, so I invested in a tub of this & I don't regret it one bit. Living right on the coast, I'm always at the beach or in the sun and this sunscreen comes with me everywhere. I don't go a day without applying it to my face as that's one part of my body that I don't want to age. Thankyou sunsense for your ultra fantastic product!

  • The perfect SunScreen for our family!

I've always been someone to buy whatever sunscreen is on special at the supermarket, but since trying SunSense I won't be buying any other brand. We all have fair skin and burn very easily, so the SPF 50+ rating gives me peace of mind and the pump pack makes application easy and most importantly, mess free! I've even purchased the roll-on version to keep in my handbag, for those unexpected trips to the park and beach.

  • SunSense Ultra 50+ is brilliant!

Our family all have extremely fair skin so the 50+ is so important to us. I love the fact we can leave it in the bathroom and the kids can easily access it and apply prior to running out to school and any sport activities. I bought a small roll on for each of their school bags too. I find it easy to go on and it protects them really well. I’m extremely happy with SunSense 50+ and will continue to use it. Hubby wants a pump pack for his Saturday sailing to keep on board!

  • Affordable and easy to apply

I didn't get selected for a review however I thought I'd post since I buy this product all the time anyway. It is good value for money and the 50+ sunscreen protection is really necessary if you're heading outdoors or to the beach. It is easy to apply, and re apply (after a couple of hours, you always need more). It won't leave a greasy residue on your skin and doesn't stain clothes. Fully recommend this product.

  • Excellent sunscreen

I love knowing that my kids and the whole family are protected from our harsh sun. I recently purchased the sunsense pump and roll on sunscreen from Priceline after recommendation from the retail assistant. I'm very happy that I took her word for it. The fact that it's SPF 50+ is fantastic and very convenient for a large family like ours. I also purchased roll on and keep it in my five year olds school bag so he can apply it by himself while at school. He loves it and is proud that he can do it himself. I also have peace of mind that he is protected while at school.

  • Great Family Sun Protection

Reliable brand and SPF 50+ protection. The pump is great value and makes it easy for everyone in the family to use before leaving the house. It also ensures that they are only using what has been pumped out and doesn't contaminate the rest, especially when sand is involved. the tube and roll on is easy to pack for on the go reapplying. Great product that makes me feel my family is sun protected.

  • Post Laser hair removal

A close friend of mine, just got a laser treatment done for lip. She was advised to always have the sunscreen on. She had started using sunsense on my recommendation, and used it even after laser treatment. There have been no side effects that she can see on her face. the treatment day went fine and was nice and clean. No itchiness, no dryness, no red marks. All went well. Good job sunsense sunscreen. Proud of you ! we can now recommend to other friends as well

I had been using this for a few weeks, it has been fine but now it is giving my daughter an irritation but for me it is great, it is non greasy, works well, is easy to apply and the pump pack is fantastic and easy to use. I like that the protection rating is so high. I don't leave the house without appplying this to me from head to toe, I usually have quite sensitive skin but it seems fine. I have just gotten a more sensitive one from the same brand for my daughter.

I really enjoyed trying this product on my 4 children as we have skin issues that are easily irritated. It went on nice and not greasy and after 4hrs there were no reactions at all. I didn't reapply for nearly 6 hrs and there was no sign of sun burn at that time. All my kids found the pump pack easy to use, even my 3yr old. I will definatly be purchasing this product in the future as it has impressed me so much!

SunSense has a large range of sunscreens in 50spf to suit the whole family. They can be easily found at most pharmacies. Remember to toss out any old sunscreen that is out of date as it won't be affective. I trust SunSense to protect my family. I've had a melanoma so it's important to me to have good protection.

I didn't get selected for a review, but as we are fanatical about sunscreen, and have many varieties in our house I thought that I'd review this one anyway. Spf 50+ is the best and only sunscreen to have when you're outdoors all day. Especially if you have young kids with sensitive skin. The pump pack makes it easy to apply (except when you get to the end of the bottle), and I love that it comes in a range of different size packs to suit all needs.

  • The best

I have used SunSense tint on my face and neck for quite a while when I decided to buy the sunscreen range for the family. What can I say? So much better than Banana Boat and even Cancer Council sunscreens. I cannot find a single fault with this product and it is a reasonable price. I keep the roll on in my child's school bag, so handy!

  • Slip slop slap

This sunscreen has protected both of my children and myself in very humid, hot weather. The Suns rays are so strong and fierce, it's amazing how easily we can burn in the summer weather. I like to use the pump cream as a base and then when I reapply I like to use the roll on one. It's 50+ which is the highest that I have seen for coverage in a sunscreen. You want to be able to trust that your skin and your family's skin is protected and this is definitely the product.

  • Good for sensitive skin

I use other products from the same company such as QV wash and cream, as they don't irritate my sensitive skin. I was happy to see they had sunscreen as well. I've found it great for the whole family and have now started using the daily face (pictured) for when I go to work. No problems with my skin and it feels natural. Will keep on buying.

  • Nothing better!

This is the only brand I trust for my family to use. The roll on is handy for your bag for quick and easy application especially on the children. We used this in Queensland just recently as we are from Melbourne - typically the Queensland weather is stronger than we are used to. Provided we used followed the Application instructions we did not have any issues. Not too greasy either and quite easy to rub in.

  • Good product but maybe not for everyday use

I have been using SunSense Ultra SPF 50+ for a while now. Initially I used to use it every time my family and I would go to the beach. Soon after I used to apply it everyday (as outings were becoming more frequent and spontaneous). However, I noticed the product starts to flake off the skin and if your rub your arms or legs, you can see residues of the product. It does not rub in easily and smoothly. I will continue to use the pack till it is finished, however will definitely not buy it again.

I bought this in the small 125ml bottle as wanted to try it before I bought the larger size. was plesantly suprised. Its the perfect subnscreen for the whole family as its got no fragrance and very high sun protection even in water. Lastly really well and provides good sun protection. Is milky white in colour easy to apply does have a greasy after feel so use it for days when you need really high sun protection like at the beach or on a outdoors all day picnic

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • That lunchbox comparison table is handy to have. It helped me make a decision on which lunchbox to buy next for my daughter who is starting kindergarten. I needed to upgrade her lunchbox but wasn’t sure which way to go. The table helped me with my decision. I ended up going with the BBOX and have found a cheaper lunch bag from a department store that it fits in.

  • I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • So so many fantastic options! We use the montii co ones for our kdis and swear by it. Its lasted 3 years so far and still standing strong, like new since the first day using it. They are so durable and i find cleaning them to be the easiest for us.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • This is super useful article and thank you. I can see so variety of lunch boxes from every store. Always wonder which one would be more convenient to use by little hands. I love some of these lunchboxes to give it a try for this year. And then decide to go with suitable ones

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
