As mums, we all want to do the best by our kids – we want to make sure we’re choosing the right products when it comes to feeding them, and at the same time, have them enjoy the food we provide them.
We know kids love white bread, but often feel guilty about feeding it to them. Plus, with the number of choices at the supermarket, it’s hard to know which is the right one to choose.
That’s why we’re so excited that iconic bread makers, Tip Top, launched this year, The One, after 12 months of research, development and baking to create “the best white bread ever”.
Answering all of mum’s problems with a product the whole family will love, Tip Top The One is a soft, tasty, white bread that kids will love, but is packed full of the goodness mums look for in wholemeal and grain breads.
Tip Top The One contains extra fibre to help keep little tummies balanced and ‘in tune’, lower GI* for feeling fuller for longer, and lasting energy throughout the day. The unique combination of benefits which makes The One ‘the best white bread available’ includes:
High in Fibre – The One contains 7.5g[1] of fibre in it, more than regular wholemeal bread and white bread. Fibre is essential for good digestive health as part of a balanced diet.
Added Vitamins & Minerals – The One contains the following vitamins; Thiamin, Folate, Vitamin E, Niacin, Vitamin B6 for good health and wellbeing, as well as the following essential minerals; Iron and Zinc. These provide everyday benefits to maintain general health levels.
Lower GI – The One is a Lower GI[2] bread, compared to regular wholemeal and white breads which have a High GI rating. This means children will stay fuller for longer after eating The One.
Tip Top The One costs $3.79 (RRP) and is available in all leading supermarkets.
We always have Tip Top The One wholemeal toast in the freezer, we stock up when it’s on special. my son loves eating it on toast with vegemite. would recommend this bread to everyone. it’s great, taste good, not expensive.
We love ‘The One’ bread in our house, very yummy and there is always good deals for it in our local Coles shop. It is a great size slice of bread and very filling. Much better than cheap loaves of bread. I try to buy it most of the time.
this bread is number one no wonder they called it the one, it is so soft and fresh, great for sandwiches fresh or toasted, and great for toasting as well, i kids love it for school sandwiches as well it keeps fresh for them in their lunchboxes, so keep it up the one!
more expesive than other brands but better quality.
I found tip top the one to be a very good product. I did notice that it was quite a bit more expensive than other brands but this product seemed to stay softer for longer.
Great bread good to freeze. It is larger than either bread this is better for taking for lunch.
i recently started buying this bread, as the normal one i buy was unavailable for a period of time.
i found that the one lasted longer than the previous brand, and still remained soft and fresh tasting even after freezing it. my kids love the taste, and the fact that it is on sale quite often is a winner for me.
I’m one of the ‘ strange’ ones who likes only white bread yet worry abt insufficient nutrients and fibre. Never looked back since Tip Top the One. It is soft and filling, able to keep my tummy from growling longer than other white bread in market. Also, it suits the whole family’s appetite
I did not tell the kids that I was using a different bread when I packed their lunch boxes, I was surprised when my fussy teenager who is not a lover of sandwiches asked if I did something different to his sandwich as it tasted really nice. i am yet to try the toast cut but am eager to do so.
Large slices were usefull, toased nicely.
Stayed fresh – even the next day.
High fibre made me feel good about buying white bread.
We usally buy bread from bakers delight, and this was better than I remember supermarket bread being.
When Tip Top the One is on special, I’m more than happy to buy it.
I really like the size of the slices, they are a decent size and the thickness is just about right.
Tip top the one stays fresh and soft up to about four days, which suits my house hold just fine as we are not huge bread eaters.
My only real gripe is the price, great value when it is on special, if not, I buy the brand that is on sale.
My girls love white bread and when this bread is on sale we like to buy it. It’s bigger than our normal loaves that we buy and yummier as well. The fact that its high in fibre is awesome and great for our little girls bellies. Definitely recommend this product especially if you have fussy children only wanting ‘white’ bread!
I only ever buy The One bread for my son and husband. They LOVE white bread and I LOVE that it isn’t the same as normal white breads – it contains beneficial vitamins and minerals as well as fibre. It’s super soft and lasts for quite a long time – however it never usually lasts very long in my home due to everyone eating it all within a day or 2 of buying! I definitely recommend it!
For me, I think if you purchase Tip Top The One on sale, then it does represent good value. If you are paying full price, around the $5 mark, I think there are better breads you could purchase.
Tip Top The One tastes like regular white bread.
I’ve had a loaf of Tip Top The One last for around 5 days and found it to be still soft.
I like Tip Top The One however at the end of the day it’s just bread.
As a family we all love this bread. Yes it is a bit more expensive but it always seems to stay fresher for longer and the whole family loves it. I always try to buy more when its on sale and put in the freezer so we never really run out of it. Its worth paying the little bit extra than the “cheaper” brands.
Tip Top The One isn’t to bad. The slices of Tip Top The One are of a decent size and thickness. For me, I haven’t had any problems with Tip Top The One staying fresh. Tip Top The One is an okay bread but however, it is not special enough for me to buy at it’s regular price. Happy to purchase it when it is on sale.
I buy Tip Top The One bread when it is on special and because hubby likes his white bread. Overall, I think the slices are a decent size, a nice thickness and the bread is nice and soft. I won’t pay full price for Tip Top The One bread however, I am happy to purchase it when it’s on sale.
First off nice packaging. I really liked the size of the slice not too thin not too thick and that fact that it’s lower GI than other breads. The kids love it because it’s nice and soft, for me it’s great for toast. However this brand has definitely changed over the years, Their bread goes stale a day after buying it. I’ll still be sticking to my local bakery bread.
Tip Top The One is a great bread. I always look to see if it’s on sale before I make my purchase. The price, is really it’s only downfall. I love the thickness of the bread and the general, overall size. A nice slice for a great sandwich (or piece of toast). I’ve had no problems with the bread staying fresh and have actually kept it up to five days and it still tasted great.
This bread is amazing. It really is the one. The slices are beautiful and soft, cut well and are a big slice as well as being packed with all the good stuff. It wasn’t really doughy just nice and light. The price however at an iga is expensive, not sure about other stores. If it was on special I would most deffinately buy over anything else. My son loves it and he isn’t a big bread eater so winning in this house hold. 🙂 would really recommend to anyone with a fussy eater and needing more nutritional benefit. 🙂
I discovered TIP TOP TEXAS TOAST a while ago and I love it. My boys love Bacon and Eggs on TEXAS Toast on the weekends. It’s the thickest sliced bread you will every find. It makes great MAN SIZED sandwiches for our tradie in my family. Usually they like Avocado and Chicken Schnitzel Sandwiches with a drop of hot Chilli Sauce. They feel full and are ready for the afternoon of hard work. I get a “Good on you MUM, Tip Top’s the one!” Quite often!!
I buy all different brands of bread but I have found Tip Top The One white toast loaf to be one of the nicest breads to eat. It’s great for toast and sandwiches and it stays fresh and soft for a few days. I like how it contains all the vitamins and minerals but is lower in GI so it keeps me from snacking more during the day.
we bought this for first time and our whole family liked it.. it was soft and good taste, good value for money as well.. i have recommended my friends as well
Tip Top The One is a lovely, lush, soft bread. It is definitely of a higher standard than most. Unfortunately we do not buy a lot of it due to it being so pricey, so we love it when we see it on special!! My kids love soft bread, so it is definitely easier to get them to eat a sandwich for lunch. Also makes for light fluffy toast as well =) I can be quite fussy with bread, but this is one I could eat all the time without a worry I’m sure…
Love the softness (even the crust), the taste, the size of the slices. The only down side to it is that when you go through a lot of bread with little ones you want it to be a reasonable cost and this isn’t always the way unless on special. I want to be able to give my kids the best which I believe this is but when you can get a loaf that is a least half the cost, sometimes you can’t have as good of quality
I purchased this in order to make Fairy Bread for a party. For that purpose it is great. Soft and fluffy white bread. You can’t beat it for Fairy Bread. For anything else I still prefer a multi grain style bread. Thankfully my children do too. Perhaps because they’ve never really been given any other option.
from reading all the reviews about tip tops the one I went to coles and brought it myself just to see what the fuss was … I now only use the one as I find it has everything that you could want in the bread it also stays moist right to the last slice

Mums Reveal Their Fail-Safe Nappy Rash Tips
Whether you’re a seasoned or first-time mum, protecting your baby’s delicate skin is right up there on the priorities list. Because when their skin is irritation-free, it really does make for a happier bub! Anyone who’s had to deal with nappy rash (me included!) knows it’s an inescapable mum truth.
Having skin irritation as an adult is super distracting and annoying. So just imagine what that’s like for our teeny babies and toddlers, who need to focus on sleep, eat and play. No wonder they can be so upset when they have nappy rash.
One thing you do need to ditch when it comes to nappy rash is mum guilt. It happens despite our best efforts. But it is helpful if you can get ahead of the game by doing as much as you can to try and prevent nappy rash in the first place.
We asked our hundreds of thousands of Mouths of Mums members for their tried-and-true, trusted nappy rash tips, and their responses came down to four key tips. So if you’re about to have your first baby, or your fifth, it’s worth popping on the kettle and reading through what’s helped other mums.
Fail-Safe Nappy Rash Tips From Mums
What we love about these tips is they’re perfect for mums and expecting mums, and they’re really simple to do. Everything from what to use and what to steer clear of, to helpful hints on caring for delicate baby skin.
1. Nappy Free Time
“As much free nappy time as possible. Lay baby on a blanket covered with a towel on the floor, without a nappy on, if possible in front of a warm sunny window.” – Joanne W.
We love nappy free time for newborn and toddlers (although it’s a lot harder to get them to stay in one place!). And while nappy free time is one of the most popular nappy rash tips among our mums, using the right nappy also plays a huge part in protecting against irritation on your baby’s skin. For example, Huggies Ultra Dry Nappy Pants have clever Rapid-Dry™ Technology, which instantly absorbs for drier skin. And they’re perfect for day and night, with up to 12 hours of leakage protection.
2. Change Nappies Frequently
“For me, what worked on my two kids is not leaving them in soiled nappies too long. I definitely changed as soon as they were wet and let their skin air dry before placing a new nappy on. I would rather go through more nappies than have to deal with the uncomfortable rash they would feel.” – MoM Member
Frequent nappy changes are a fail-safe way to keep moisture, but it’s not always practical (babies just love to fill their nappies while you’re out and about!) Huggies Newborn Nappies are designed to help protect a baby’s delicate skin with a zinc-enriched layer*, clinically proven to help protect against skin irritation.
3. Use A Barrier Cream
“My mum put me onto Zinc and Caster Oil cream. It is FABULOUS stuff! It’s very thick and sticks like you know what to a blanket hehe I tried literally everything and this was the only stuff that helped.” – Trudes
Using a barrier cream was another really popular tip from our mums. But did you know that Huggies Newborn Nappies are the only nappy with a zinc enriched layer. The zinc oxide in Huggies Newborn Nappies is the same ingredient found in many nappy rash creams, which helps to protect against irritation with visibly less redness on skin. They’re also endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives and the number one choice in Australian hospitals.
4. Choose Gentle
“Don’t use scented wipes. Flannel and warm water is the best.” – Justine F
Using the most natural product possible for wiping a baby’s delicate skin to prevent irritation is a tip that’s been passed down from generation to generation – and it’s still a great one. But something lots of mums don’t consider that a nappy itself can help protect against skin irritation. Huggies Newborn Nappies are clinically proven* to help protect against skin irritation while Huggies Ultra Dry Nappy Pants keep up with wriggly little ones while providing superior dryness, making them perfect for active toddlers.
Nappy Rash Myths & Facts
🚫 Myth: Nappy rash is only caused by wet nappies. ✅ Fact: It’s true that moisture does play a role in nappy rash, it can also be caused by moisture friction, bacteria, and even what the nappy is made from.
It’s why choosing a nappy that’s specifically designed for skin protection is really important.
🚫 Myth: Cloth nappies are better at preventing nappy rash than disposable nappies. ✅ Fact: When it comes to nappy rash, there’s not really any need to compare cloth and disposable nappies, because it’s all about keeping baby dry. The longer baby can stay dry, the better.
🚫 Myth: Nappy rash creams are the only way to protect against irritation. ✅ Fact: A good nappy with a zinc enriched layer can also help to protect against irritation.

A great compilation of tips for the new parent (and good reminders for even the seasoned parent!)
Dry, clean and comfy makes for a happy baby. And remembering that a baby’s skin is so very delicate, so it’s good to be picky about what you put on or near their skin. Enjoy your sweet babies!
All really good tips. I’m a big believer in not letting them sit in wet nappies for long. Even the most absorbent nappies are resting against their delicate skin and need changing. I’m also a big sudocrem fan. A thin layer applied to irritated skin does wonders. It’s natural for them to have nappy irritations but we can only do our best to avoid it
Really terrific advice. My daughter never had much in the way of nappy rash develop and I believe that because I did change her so frequently and we had a lot of nappy free time, especially in the warmer months of summer. Sure there is things to treat nappy rash but we all know prevention is best!
My first born had terrible nappy rash and ulcers from acid urine and none of the specialists prescription creams did anything. I finally used Petroleum Jelly and it cleared up his skin very quickly and kept future rashes at bay. It is cheap and easy to use and works the best of anything.
Any redness can be resolved with a tub of Sudocrem. It’s a cream that smells like lavender. Very pleasant and usually works quickly within the first application.
Take it with you everywhere. It helps poo nappy changes. Just apply on bottom area to prevent future nappy rash. Your baby will be happy with it on. It doesn’t feel cold like a wet wipe.

I had issues with my son pooping a lot as a newborn. Sometimes it can be really hard to keep the rash at bay if you have a child that is constantly doing that. There is some acidity in the excrement and that can cause burning before it’s even been against their skin for long. I used to use paw paw cream on him and that worked best as a barrier.
Nappy Rash can be so raw and painful and i always worried so much when our babies had a bout of it. I remember trying so many things but always found good old petroleum jelly used regularly would help in keeping it at bay. There are some great suggestions in the article.
I did find that not all nappy rash creams are as good as each other. After trialing many brands I settled on Sudocrem as the best for me and my baby. Changing nappies frequently and air time is also very important.
There are so many common sense tip in this article and they are tips that we followed. We kept everything as natural as possible on very soft and sensitive skin. We went with plenty of nappy free times and we were very fortunate to not encounter issues with nappy rash.
This article describes very much what we always have done: frequent nappy changes, plenty of bare bum time, no fragrances also not in soaps and a good nappy rash cream. It can become more challenging when your child has diarrhea; in which case bare bum time becomes more complex and the skin more irritated in which the gentle washing with warm water, patting dry with a soft cotton flannel and good zinc cream is more important
Even though I agree that prevention is key, I also think it’s important to have a good barrier cream to hand to help at the first signs of trouble. There are lots of good brands, you can pick any really that suits your baby’s skin. But use it liberally when you need it!
Yay! First time seeing my own comment in an article! *happy dance*
But yes, i do swear by changing their nappies as soon as it’s soiled. It’s what worked for us for both children! We always go prepared and change either before going out, during or in the car boot if we really had to
Nappy rash is horrible and prevention is definately better than cure. This is a fantastic article with some great tips. Especially the changing of the nappy frequently. Unfortunately sometimes especially once they’re on solids and their poops get yucky a little nappy rash can be unavoidable in which case a small amount of sudocreme clears it up quickly.
We found that changing nappies frequently was key for us. And once the kids starting sleeping for long periods at night, we started using the really good quality nappies – Huggies, as it happens – while cheaper nappies were still okay for the day and frequent changes. Nappies do vary! .
This is a really great reminder that nappy rash can happen but there are some great tips to help try and avoid it. I use to do a lot of nappy free time with my daughter when we were home as she had sensitive skin and I layered the barrier cream on all the time, especially at night.
