Hello!

So a date has been set. Due to complications during my pregnancy (Pelvic Instability, Perinatal Depression and Irritable Uterus) the doctors have asked me to have an elective/planned C – Section. Our bundle of joy will be arriving on the 12th of April 2016 unless she decides to make her entrance earlier. I am excited and nervous at the same time. 27 days and counting.

  • Oh! That’s lovely! Not so much time more. Better to be safe than sorry! Is this your first C-section? I wish you all the best!!

    • Thankyou. It is my second C – Section… my son now (9 & a 1/2) was born via emergency C – Section at 37 weeks gestation after my induced labour had failed. I was induced because I had pre eclampsia. This time around it has been planned (although I would really like a natural birth) it is because of the complications I have had already. At least I can prepare a little better for it this time and I have more ideas on how to aid my recovery than after the first time round. It really isn’t all that far away now.

      • I hope the C-section won’t be too hard on you. I’ve been following your story. Yes, you can be prepared this time indeed. And your son will be a great help with the new baby. Enjoy these last weeks. Are you still staying at your brother and sister-in-law? (If I am not making mistakes! :-) )
Take care! Wish you all the best!!

      • Thankyou. I thought I recognized your profile. I appreciate your support. I am back home now which is great. I love feeling my baby move however I am struggling with the lack of sleep and being so uncomfortable. I will do my best to enjoy the remaining weeks.

      • I hope you will be able to. And I hope some good nights of sleep will come your way too. The first days with the baby at home will be quite hectic, and it would be great if you don’t start too tired. Will you have to stay in hospital for some days after the C-section? Is it a girl this time?

      • The recommended hospital stay after a C – Section at my local hospital is 4 to 5 days. I hope for some decent sleeps too… feeling awful because of lack of sleep. Between back & hip pain, plus up to wee all night and then the contractions I get with an Irritable Uterus… it is not very restful. I will be keeping you updated. Yes a girl this time which is exciting.

      • It is indeed. :-)
Are you already drinking chamomile in the evening? It generally helps relaxing.
The irritable uterus makes everything worse indeed. And constantly having to go to the toilet.
Please keep us posted! Have a lovely Sunday!! :-)
