Hello!

My daughter this morning piped up with “mummy, I can’t wait for christmas because it’s going to snow”.

“Really?” I replied

“Yes, it will snow and be so cold and you will have to sweep the driveway so we can even get out of the house!”

Is it possible that my daughter watches too many American shows? I didn’t think so but now, I’m not so sure!

  • Television and movies may have influenced her, even books!

  • Thing is it’s just a movie… Northern hemi-sphere so often gets snow in Jan/Feb (if at all) and the movies just portray an unreal “idealistic” fantasy world… maybe remind her of that as well so she doesn’t grow up thinking everyone is happy, beautiful, slim, clever, wealthy etc. as alos portrayed in movies!

  • Yes, this can be pretty confusing! As they get older it’s easier. It’s not just the TV shows, it’s books, carols, decorations and the traditional foods!

  • It is sad how many Americanisms we adopt. Even sadder for your daughter when she wakes on Xmas morning
