I had a pretty rough pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting for the first 18 weeks, along with severe pelvic pain. Then the last 15 weeks I had awful indigestion to the point of throwing up most days. I had extreme fatigue and stress due to the fact that my mother had a stillbirth before me. But at 39 weeks I went into labour and had a complication free, beautiful birth. My little girl entered this world peacefully and with no pain relief required. My first 8 weeks PP my story has been mixed. I found breastfeeding difficult to begin with and had a severe case of mastitis. I had really bad anxiety for a couple of weeks and now I’m finally feeling settled and happy and just enjoying the journey. The point I’m trying to make here is that it’s okay to not be okay. Some people have great pregnancies and rough births, some people have healthy babies and others struggle PP. some struggle with the whole journey and others have a lovely time the whole way through. No two pregnancy/birth/postpartum stories are the same. Seek help if you need it and remember that there is no “normal.” You’ve got this mumma!
