Hello!

After just reading the ‘Opera Winfrey’ incident, I thought I would share- (this only just reminded me of what happened in April then and I never made it back to say thank you) We live remote and had organised that when we went to cairns for a family members birthday, we would also get our then 6month old son, christened.

When we had packed, I never thought about having to take anything dressy to wear. Only to be reminded by this 20minutes before we had to be at the church. After some not too nice words I was sent to Cairns DFO to pick something and get to the church. In such a panic, I headed to my favourite store- ‘Guess’. The unsuspecting sales clerk, made the friendly greeting- “Good morning, can I help you with anything today?” ahh bliss! Simply stated- “got nothing to wear have to be at the church in under 15minites!” She gratefully accepted the challenge (must have seen what a mess I was becoming) “Size, anything in mind, budget and dress or pants/skirt and top?” I gave her full control as she passed me a dress and sent me to the change room. (am not a petit model and usually have a lot of trouble finding clothes). Felt exhilarating with everything happening so quick and being waited on! The sales lady was honest with what she thought, without being rude. Couldn’t have been happier! 2 dresses fitted well, so grabbed them and ran to the register, picking up 2 pairs of shoes on the way. (hey I had permission! Why not? I was in trouble anyway) Within 10minues was back in the car. Could not believe that I spent under $150! I need to shop like this more often!

But a BIG thank you to the lady that served me. Thank you for your fantastic service, for not judging me in my bare feet, messy hair, ripped supre singlet and boardies. You got me ready for the church in time and without spending an arm and a leg!

  • I used to work in customer service, and getting positive feedback was a rare and wonderful thing. I suggest you contact the manager of the store, and let them know how wonderful she was!

    • Such a good idea to give this feedback!
