Hello!

It has taken me quite some time to realise that to ensure I can manage to get everything done in a day and stay on top of washing etc, and if I want to get to bed at a reasonable time, that I cannot afford the time to just sit around during the day. I also need to keep on schedule and cannot afford the time for chit chat if I run into anyone I know. That is if I don’t want to then have to race around to do what I need and end up forgetting things or not doing something properly.

I have four kids aged 5, 3, 3 and 18 months and I am on the Playgroup committee, we attend Playgroup, I have school runs, swimming lessons, football, karate, mountains of washing and all the general housework every one else has.

This realisation as only just occurred in the last couple of weeks. I now don’t spend time on Facebook during the day, it is such a huge time waster. I have two days in the week with minimal activity so I spend those cooking and baking and catching up on anything. Life is crazy busy with the kids, but I sleep really well (when I get some sleep) and wouldn’t change it for a second.

  • I totally agree. You need schedule, routine and sometimes have to push on and keep going. If you know a lot of people then it is essential to manage your time well. You just cannot give everyone the attention you might have once. Those relationships that you value I think you will naturally still cultivate (and those people are the probably the ones who are going to understand when you can’t stop to chat or/and who will help the most when you’re sick etc.).

  • It is nice to be able to stop for a ten minute chat sometimes.

    • Absolutely it is. I have scaled the time I spend on it right back.
