I finally did it! I made a batch of kale chips. Having sourced a $1.50 bargain bunch of kale from the local farmers market I looked up the Kale Chip recipes from the ‘Mouths of Mums” site (e.g. 1,2,3) and had a go! I was really pleased with the result. The key for me was not having the oven too hot but using a gentle heat, and making sure that the kale was dry before coating with oil and seasoning. I also decided that the recipes so far all used salt and that this was NOT something I could do, so I made my own rub using garlic powder, cumin, tumeric and a tiny amount of hot paprika. Yum! Served as part of the veggies for dinner. Now everyone has eaten them next time I’m going to put them on for snacks around a movie!
