Hello!

Just wanted to say I admire FIFO families! Prior to having my now 20 month old son, both hubby and I worked FIFO, both on a 4 weeks on / 1 week off roster. It was super hard not seeing each other for that time away. After nearly 5 years of this, when I fell pregnant we both decided to not work FIFO if possible (although hubby would go back to it if we really needed the money), as we already knew how hard it was without kids, and both wanted to be at home at night. Although it meant a big drop in pay and moving back home across the country from WA to QLD, we are managing OK and the longest hubby has had to work away is only 5 nights so far. I’m loving having him at home and I take my hat off to all FIFO families, as it’s not easy to do!
