Hello!

My kids were having trouble limiting their showers to three minutes. To help combat this problem, I now place a plastic nine litre bucket in the shower. Once this has been filled up two or three times my kids know its time for the shower to go off. If they want they can play with the last bucket of water. I did have a shower timer unfortunately it was not getting used, so I came up with this solution.

  • My husbands solution to limiting shower times in our house is to turn the hot water on at other taps – its amazing how we all get out when the water goes cold!

    • This would work especially well in winter

  • An alarm clock might also work?

  • A very nice idea indeed!
My daughter uses a timer. Even if she’s often still under the shower after it rings!! :-)

    • We follow the timer up with a knock on the door! ;)

  • I love a shower timer as everyone can hear it as it is super loud! :)
