Technology free time - Real Mum story on MoM

I spent a couple of days in an area with no technology and it was absolutely wonderful to be free! There was no mobile phone reception and everyone had to sit and talk and there were no interruptions. We have technology free times in our house and it was good to see other people being able to manage without having their phones, ipads and other technology.

We love technology free time in our house. Whether it be just sitting quietly and all reading a book or playing with playdough or a board game. Just time with no TV or tablets it’s fantastic.

That’s great and so true , I hardly see kids now even to “sit and talk” . I grew up with minimal technology and now it has overtaken us ….

  It does happen slowly, but the time can be taken back and the kids do love the tech free time.

Great idea, we need to implement this in our house, our kids are addicted to iPads and iPhone and we now give them 15mins a day but I think I need to make total ban days.

How lovely! In 10 days we are going to do the same. We are to a farm where there is no mobile reception at all. I can’t wait!!

I do like to have a quick email check once a day – just to scan for emergencies.

This happened to us a little while ago and it was fantastic! I’ve tried to enforce a no technology on subsequent holidays with no success. Hopefully next holiday will be in a no reception area.
