Hello!

I need to share this and hopefully other mums can HELP. I have put on a hell of a lot of weight having my 2 girls, I know its no excuse but I have :( I would love to lose weight and try to get healthier for my girls so can enjoy them, play a lot more with them without being tired and of course be around to see them grow old. I have really bad back (5 bulging discs) and bad hips, no matter what exercise I try to do it nearly cripples me. I was walking for 5 days and was hurting but keep doing it until was nearly hospitalized due to so much pajn and no movement so what im really trying to ask ladies is how in the hell do I lose all my weight if cant exercise. Any tips and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • keep the diet in check and every movement that you make will count. So even sitting down, just shake your leg and fidget a lot. Why not try doing some gentle aquacise at your local pool. they should be running classes or just go there for a swim. It is hot enough and being in a pool will probably be gentler to your back. I slipped 2 discs from falling down steps and landing on my butt. Maybe you should see your doctor and see if he can help you medically and see what advice he can give you in regards to diet and exercise. Good luck and good on ya for trying to help yourself.

    • I agree, watch the diet and try doing exercises in the water.

  • Oh it is tough and you have some extra tough obstacles. Like the other Mom said, starts in the kitchen, I believe starting the day with some warm water and lemon will make you feel nice and if you start the day healthy you will follow through. You can do it.

  • I am in the same boat hope you have better luck as it’s hard to do as even just walking stuffs me for the rest of the day after walking , I have lost a bit but need pain killers to be able to do anything after that , so still working on getting fit but will take time

  • There’s an old saying – lose weight in the kitchen and tone up in the gym. Concentrate on getting your eating clean and the first few pounds should start to go. Then perhaps some gentle exercise in the pool? You doctor should be able to advise you on the best exercise for you. Good luck and well done on making the decision to be healthier for your children. I hope your back gets better soon.
