Hi everyone,

I have my brothers wedding coming up in a few months and I would like to know if there are any colours or style dresses that would come across as offensive (apart from going as a total trash bag of course lol)

Any feedback and advice would be warmly welcomed, thank you. ;)

  • neutral and a longer dress, something that is comfortable, stylish and practical :)

  • I’m not sure about this. I would think you would have the good taste and common sense to dress yourself appropriately lol. But still pick something you like, is you, suits you and you feel comfortable in

  • I like the neutral colours at a wedding and nothing to short :)

  • I would stay away from white and maybe nothing too short

  • By short; I mean mini dress! Colours vary and depends on the time of day and venue too! Have fun shopping! :)

  • As long as it is not short; you should be fine.

  • I think avoid black or white unless you have asked the bride and don’t upstage her. :)

  • Most people avoid white. :) And I think a lot of people avoid black for fear it’s seen as a negative message (this is more true during the day than for an evening wedding). Generally though, I think the rule of thumb is don’t upstage the bride, and respect any dress code that’s specified.

  • Usually avoid all white or all black.
Go for something bright and coulorful that looks nice with your skin tone and is ofcourse slimming to the figure ;)

  • Ask a few others attending the wedding what color they will be wearing then you have a good chance at blending in :)

  • I would say no to white! Personally I think black is fine? My bridesmaids
Wore black. And nothing too short or revealing!!

  • I would avoid wearing black or white, but if you’re really concerned maybe ask your brother if there was a particular dress code (if not already written on the invite). So long as you dress appropriate for the location and don’t show up the bride (so perhaps avoid wearing something with sequins and 2m long fluorescent feathers attached to the back Lollol) you should be ok :)

  • Hmm I’m in the same predicament. It’s hard to keep up with what is considered offensive at weddings these days. I think white and black are big no no’s for wedding guests but I could be wrong.
