My daughter will be two on September and I just wanted to know what’s a good age to take a toddler to the cinemas? At this stage I just think she’s a bit too young to go but I’d like to hear how it went for others? Any tips or things I should know before hand?

  • depends on the child – my son was five and it was a disaster

  • My girls are 8 & 7 and I have to consider what we see carefully as they often get scared. Louder sounds and bigger picture.

  • I guess it all depends on how well behaved a child is and what there attention span is.

  • My girls are 2 – I dont think they would make it past the intro. They are too busy to sit and watch an episode of Dora, let alone a full movie. But all kids are different. I agree witht he other mums though, put on a DVD at home, if they can sit through that, the movies should be fine! :)

  • Hi, I think it depends on your child. I took my 3 year old for the 1st time this year, she sat on my lap the whole time but was really good and watched the whole movie.

  • The other moms have given great advice as usual. Also if it is a movie that is not quite age appropriate for her eg you are talking an older sibling to a movie and taking her along as well, please think of other patrons if she becomes bored or play up.

    • oopps so sorry: should read taking.

  • If she is good watching tv, dvd’s etc I think she will be fine to watch a lovely animated movie at this age :)

  • Take notice if she can sit through a movie or DVD and if she can that she should be right to take to the movies. My Grandson has been going since he was 2 and there was not dramas at all
