As I go on this story I remember all who have fallen into Mental illness ,actors, elite athletes, family members .Least it’s not predjusice ! Us as humans do come to be affected in many ways ,trying to overcome grief obstacles, injury or for no reason at all .Mood swings puts pressure, makes it hard on family members. All I found is don’t take it to heart ,try change subject or go for walks .We all get sad ,but sometimes some of us cannot shake it off .Do try to be caring &supportive .But most of all take care of ourselves or we no good to anyone.!

  • Yes, even anxiety ( which we all have ) is classified as a mental illess, so imagine if you have serious crippling symptoms that doesn’t allow you to cope . It needs to be treated .

  • i think that these people need support and help and even just a shoulder to lean on. depression is scary but we should ask what we can do to help someone

  • My mum passed away from breast cancer with secondary bone cancer, then the year after my brother passed away from the horrible disease MND (he only had it for 4 years), then two years after my mother in law passed away from a blot clot in her brain.
Such a sad time in our lives but i still say that the reasons we all dealt with it so well was because we talked openly about it all.

  • Sadly I have 3 family members that suffer from depression, whether or not if it is a genetic problem I have to be happy & positive around them but privately it breaks my heart to see them so down.

  • Yes it is certainly a sad illness. But you are so right – we need to look after ourselves to be able to look after others.
