Hello!

My gosh, a workmate of mine ( I work for a Council) has started bringing in cakes, bikkies and slices that she cooks (her kitchen is registered and that is cheap to do) and sells them for $2 each (precut and wrapped in gladwrap). The ones that sell best are lemon slice and caramel slice. She makes a fortune! She has the pieces in the kitchen on platters and an honesty jar next to them (has an iou post it note system in the jar with a pen too).
So clever and I wish I had of thought of it – so I am sharing to see if any of you can learn from this post and make yourself some cash doing something you love
Good luck!

  • i wouldn’t feel right in asking for money but if i had made a proper work agreement and stuff, then i suppose it is a great idea!

  • I don’t think I could ver bring myself to sell goods like this at work. I willingly share freshly baked goods.

  • What a fantastic idea! If only I didn’t work in a food focussed workplace, I would be in on this. Maybe my kids could do it at school? Might stop those kids that insist on stealing my kids lunches if they could cheaply purchase the same

  • Great idea! I would frequently buy from that if there was one in my workplace

  • What a great idea. You can’t beat home cooked food which is cheap. Better than paying cafe prices. :-)

    • $2 a slice of cake, or lemon slice, etc… way cheaper and healthier

  • You did think of it! What else would this work with? You don’t have to move in on this ladies area, but you may have other items to sell like lemons? Eggs? Baby booties, Xmas gifts….. I think the list is endless here

    • good one! I will have to have a go at something. Another work mate sells eggs – she rescues battery hens, and sells the eggs at work to pay for feed… I will think of something x
