Maddie has shared her journey as a teen mum on social media, ever since she gave birth to Everly, after discovering she was pregnant just after she turned 14. She refers to herself on her Instagram account as ‘the girl who got pregnant at 13’.

The mum-of-two explained on YouTube that she became pregnant with her first child after dating her boyfriend for five months.

“I was dating this guy, his name was Isaac. We were teenagers, we were dumb we weren’t thinking of consequences and obviously stuff happened.”

The couple eventually broke up, but Maddie had a feeling she may be pregnant.

“I had started missing my period about two months before we broke up and I never really said anything, I just kinda brushed it off. I was just too scared and I’d had irregular periods before so I was just like ok. But I never got my period. I never really told my mum that I was missing it. I look up to my mum, she’s like my best friend so I didn’t want her to be disappointed in me.

“A couple of weeks after me and him broke up I had been really, really sick like throwing up all the time and I actually had a stomach virus. My whole family had a stomach virus and I thought I’d just got a nasty version of it. She took me to the doctor and they drew my blood and they ran some tests. When they called my mum back we were on this little vacation and she went into the other room to talk to the doctor. I was Snapchatting my best friend and telling him, she’s about to find out, I know it.

“My mum called me into the room and the first thing she said was, ‘I just got off the phone with the doctor, he says you’re at least 10 or 12 weeks pregnant’. And my initial reaction was to have a literal mental breakdown. I was so scared. It felt like everything felt so real now that she knew.”

Maddie says she was subjected to relentless trolling after revealing her pregnancy and after she gave birth at just 14 years old.

“I broke because I wasn’t used to the amount of hate I was getting. Just because I got pregnant I was this horrible person.

“So many people that I thought were my friends would talk behind my back and make fun of me. I became the laughing stock of everyone I knew.”

Life as a young mum hasn’t been easy for Maddie, but she’s now a happily married mum-of-two, marrying Randy Crowley in September last year, and now giving birth to their first child together.

  • pregnant at 13 is horrible i would be so disappointed if that was my daughter ..just glad that she waited for a few years to have another baby and not had 4 by the age of 20 ..she looks like she did a good job raising the baby at such a young age ..i got pregnant at 17 and there’s no way i was ready to have a baby at that age as i had no interest in staying home and looking after a toddler when all my mates were going out having fun and that’s what i wanted too so my mum ended up looking after my daughter more then i did …

  • Good to see she waited until she was a bit older at 20 when having her second child. It would have been extremely difficult to have a baby at 13 or any other teen age.

  • Wow, so young to be a mum, what a shock for everyone. I am surprised that there’s still such negativity toward teenage mums/pregnancy. It’s been happening for years, get over it peeps

  • I feel for this girl, she was so young and being trolled on the internet. They look really happy as a family and that is really all that matters in the end. I wish them all the best best for a wonderful future as a family.
