A teenager has been charged with murder after bodies were found at a ‘horrific’ crime scene.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with three counts of murder in relation to the deaths of an eight-year-old boy, 15-year-old girl and their 48-year-old mother.

Police were called to a convenience store on The Broadway in Ellenbrook, in Perth’s northeast, after a man arrived and asked for police.

Officers attended the convenience store before being led to a nearby residential address in Ellenbrook about 1.30am on Sunday.

Police say a mother and her son were found dead inside the property while the daughter was found critically injured in the backyard. She died en route to the hospital.

‘A senior homicide squad investigating officer said to me today it is potentially the most horrific crime scene he has ever been called to,’ Assistant Commissioner Paul Steel told reporters in Perth on Sunday afternoon.

A 19-year-old man, who is alleged to have lived at the property with the victims, was taken into custody.

The teenager, who is also understood to be related to the victims, spent the night being questioned.

  • Is it a case of the guy didn’t want to obey the house rules, or is it a mental health issue.?
We have to remember that a person with a mental health issue cannot be forced to seek treatment if they don’t want to. ….unless they are taken in by the Police.

  • Mental health is not treated well enough in Australia. This should not have happened.
