Hello!

The weather may be getting warmer and we’re replacing our fluffy slippers with beach sand-encrusted thongs and swapping mugs of cocoa for frosty cocktails. But the run-up to the festive season is all about cosy family togetherness and there’s no better way to capture this than with this new hot chocolate grazing platter trend.

Netflix has a string of fabulous Christmas movies on offer and there is nothing better than curling up on the couch with a mega-sized bowl of popcorn and a double-thick creamy hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. Well, actually now there is something better. Making your own personalised decadent dessert drink using your favourite ingredients from a treat-filled hot chocolate grazing platter.

The hot chocolate board is the latest in a trend of grazing platters (our past favourites include the pavlova grazing platter, the fries board and platters on a budget) and is divinely decadent and really fun to put together.

What’s In The Hot Chocolate Grazing Platter

The classic ingredients on the hot chocolate grazing platter is a generous bowl of whipped cream, cocoa, Milo or hot chocolate powder, milk, crushed cookies (we love Oreos), wafers, meringues, chocolate chips, sprinkles, marshmallows (mini and mega) and chocolate-covered pretzels.

We also love making a jug of whipped hot chocolate and adding this to the platter as a scrumptious base for all the toppings.

We certainly didn’t invent the hot chocolate grazing board and we’ve taken inspiration from many creative cooks. Check out some of our favourites below.

  • This looks like the most indulgent board!! I couldn’t have one set up, I’d end up with a tummy ache and face full of blemishes the next morning

  • Stop it! You’re killing me. We love a grazing plate in our home. We’ve done many savoury ones, and for Father’s Day decided on a chocolate one. It was for 3 of us and we went so overboard. It lasted throughout the whole day with leftovers and included – Darrell Lea coconut balls, chocolate eclairs, mixed chocolate bullets, chocolate pretzels, marshmallows, twirl bites, summer roll minis, mint balls…. It was the best.
