Catherine Hughes and her family have been fighting for vaccine awareness since their baby boy, Riley, passed away in March 2015 from whooping cough at just 32 days old.
“I’d rather my kids have ‘natural immunity’ than vaccinate them!”
“This proud declaration is something I’ve seen many times now, from those who believe immunity is best achieved by allowing their children to be ‘naturally’ infected with a disease (such as whooping cough or measles),” shared Catherine in a recent Facebook post.
“I wonder if they understand just how unnatural these diseases can be?”
❌There’s nothing natural about your baby getting so sick they need strong antibiotics.
❌There’s nothing natural about your baby getting so sick they need to be intubated.
❌There’s nothing natural about your baby getting so sick they need blood transfusions.
❌There’s nothing natural about your baby being so sick they are placed on life support.
“This photo is of my son before he died from whooping cough. He was too young to be vaccinated and caught this ‘natural’ disease. Let me tell you, there is nothing natural about planning a funeral for your own child.
“NATURAL has become a bit of a marketing buzzword, and we are conditioned to think it is something to strive for. We are told to aim for natural childbirth, use natural organic skincare products, eat food with only natural additives. But just because something is natural, doesn’t mean it is inherently good. Bee stings, cyclones, poison ivy, rabies – they’re all natural, but far from good.
“Don’t be tricked into believing “natural immunity” is a desirable thing. There is NOTHING nice nor natural about succumbing to a preventable disease.
Please vaccinate!”
Catherine’s honest post has received over 1800 shares and 3400 reactions.
Are we taking the whole “natural parenting” thing way too far?
