Hello!

I looked down at my longtime companion, friend, and confidant.

“You were always there for me,” I thought, remembering significant times, the excitement of my wedding day, the birth of my first child, and high school graduation as well as the everyday moments that meant so much to me.

  • Good on you. You’ve made a wonderful decision. Don’t be disheartened or give up if you lapse back into it. A lot of smokers take up to 5 or 6 attempts before giving up for good

    • The great thing about making it to a whole decade is that I can pretty safely say that I am not going to lapse- and if I can do it, so can anyone else! Its over!

  • I’ve recently quit too. I’m on day 18. My husband out of the blue decided he was quitting. We both know full well it doesn’t work if we both don’t do it so I went along with it. I also decided to stop drinking alcohol at the same time.

  • Well done! I quit several years ago, and just recently relapsed (kicked myself hard over it!) Have stopped again now, but still, knowing how bad and expensive and all the rest – i want one…

  • onya both is truly is a hard habit to break, my ex has given it a go several times without success, my reason to quit was easy it was both for my kids and for my father in law who had cancer of the throat. I tell my kids the dangers of it and say just take pop for example, knowing he can never swim or go scuba diving or do the things he loved before is devasting and a reality that the kids can actually see and live with. I only hope that one day their father too can kick the habit before its to late

  • Congratulations on making this big decision and sticking to it. You will now be able to run around after your kids without having to stop and gain your breath, like I remember my dad doing.
