Hello!

Well, that’s what happens when you get ready in a hurry! Channel 9 reporter, Fiona Willan, had us in giggles after her amusing clothing mishap at the swanky Midwinter Ball in Canberra.

The federal politics journalist attended the Federal Parliament’s Midwinter Ball last night wearing a gorgeous white gown by Toni Maticevski.

The stylish celeb happily posed for photos in her stunning outfit but if you look a little closer, you’ll notice something isn’t quite right.

Willan’s dress had an odd piece of fabric on the one side of the dress. It was actually a sleeve for the frock, that she was meant to put her arm through.

She shared on Twitter hours later that she had been in a rush and sidetracked when getting dressed and had forgotten to put her arm through the sleeve. Don’t worry Fiona, it happens to the best of us!

“I got distracted while I was getting dressed and I didn’t put the sleeve on. But I didn’t notice until halfway through the night,” she said, also joking the dress had proved “so versatile”.

What It Was Supposed To Look Like

Willan also shared a photo on Instagram on how the dress was supposed to look (sleeves and all).

New Trend

In a cheeky response, reporters Matthew Doran and Jonathan Kearsley posted a tweet of them embracing the new sleeve-free fashion.

  • Looks good either way, a lovely dress.

  • Not a disaster because she looked great anyway but I liked it even better when the sleeve was on.

  • The way frocks are made these days, particularly designer ones, it would be very confusing of what goes where. Have to admit, I didn’t even notice the sleeve til I read the full article lol

  • I think it looks great the way she wore it – looks too fussy with the sleeve on.

  • Too funny!!! Didn’t look terribly out-of-place now. One-armed fashion is a thing!!

  • This is really funny. But its not hard to put her arm in this kind of dress.

  • Hehe that’s quite funny

  • Love her attitude! It does look nicer with the sleeve

  • Good on her for not carrying on because she hadn’t put it on correctly. We all make mistakes. It’s just that when you’re in the spotlight they find they need to nitpik on every little detail that you get wrong

  • Hilarious! What a dummy!!

    • A little harsh Ceebsa…we all make mistakes and have slip ups sometimes.

  • oops! at least she has a good sense of humour, some wouldn’t. Hope the designer wasn’t too upset by it
