Batman fans, hold onto your capes! There’s something very, very cool hitting the streets of Sydney and Adelaide in celebration of Batman Day.

To mark the 85th anniversary of The Caped Crusader Warner Bros. Discovery Australia and Uber are inviting fans in Sydney and Adelaide to enjoy free rides in Batman’s iconic Batmobile.

Batmobile Sydney and Adelaide

While you won’t be cruising around Gotham City, it’s the next best thing!

Sydney fans will get the chance to order a trip in the fan-built Batmobile for free on demand in the Uber app on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September.

Then it’s your turn, Adelaide – the Batmobile will be hitting your CBD on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September.

Here are the details:

  • Batman fans must leave their Robin at home though, with only one passenger seat available per trip.
  • If users don’t see the Batmobile as an option in the app, it means that Batman is busy, so make sure you get in quick to avoid missing out on this truly unique experience!
  • To further celebrate Batman’s legacy, some lucky fans may be gifted Batman merch from Gotham Collectables to help mark the special occasion.
  • Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September 2024, between 11am – 3pm local time in Sydney
  • Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September 2024, between 11am – 3pm local time in Adelaide

  • Pretty awesome experience for the big kids but it’s a bit sad that there is only room for one passenger because there would be no way that I’d let my 8 year old ride around next to a complete stranger while I was left behind. I get that the car is too small so it’s not a complaint at all.

  • Not interested since it doesn’t include WA.

  • This is amazing and will certainly draw a lot of attention.

  • What an absolutely fantastic opportunity for Sydney and Adelaide folks. Im sure this will do well in both cities, but I can only imagine how many people will be disappointed they miss out on such an adventure. Please tell me the driver will be wearing a batman costume and provide guests with a Robin Mask.

  • I think I’d feel claustrophobic in that but it’s very cool.

  • This is so super cool. I bet there will be some very happy little (and big) kids lining up for this one. I know my kids would definitely love it but unfortunately we are a bit far away gor this one. Oh well if it’s a success as I’m sure it will be they might extend to other states one day.

  • I bet this will be insanely popular.

  • My kids would absolutely freak out about this! Haha how much fun!

  • Not into Batman and don’t do Uber but boy I’d love this. Would be so much fun .

  • Man the wait times on this would be horrendous! It’s a shame that there is only two cities that are involved with this. I am not a Batman fan, but still would love a ride – it’s super cool! Maybe it should come to Launceston Tasmania, then it can drive over the Batman Bridge! (yes, we have a bridge named that, it’s just pronounced differently lol).

  • The Batmobile looks so awesome!

    • Yes it looks pretty awesome indeed ! My 19yr old son might still be up for it and possibly even my husband (lol big kid), but living in Brisbane this is sadly too far away for us.
I’m sure there will be plenty of other exciting activities organised and items produced especially for this day all over the world.

      • Sadly this is the situation for us too; no proximity to the Batmobile We will not be able to access it either but just maybe it will travel to other states and territories. It would no doubt be a big hit with many people; both young and old and fans.

  • Omg how awesome is this. What a great idea and fun for a special occasion ride. I wish I lived in the area so I could experience it. What a ride this would be especially for all those people who love Batman. Does the driver come all dressed up as well?

  • This seems really fun, but what a shame that it’s single passenger only. I imagine a lot of littles would love the experience but would need their parents joining them. I guess a lot of big kids at heart will get a huge thrill, it looks like a very fun ride.
