At 66-years-old Alexandra Hildebrandt just welcomed her 10th child, revealing she had no problems getting pregnant without IVF.

A museum director who was born in the Ukraine but has lived in Germany since 1990, Alexandra gave birth to Philipp last month, via c-section at Charité Hospital in Berlin.

Baby Philipp is a little brother for siblings Svitlana, 46; Artiom, 36; Elisabeth, 12; Maximilian, 12; Alexandra, 10; Leopold, 8; Anna, 7; Maria, 4; Katharina, 2.

The mum-of-10 says she’s only had ‘positive feedback’ from family and friends.

“A big family is not only something wonderful, but above all, it is important for raising children properly,” Alexandra told TODAY.

She’s also revealed that she stays healthy by not smoking or drinking and has never used contraceptives.

“I eat very healthily, swim regularly for an hour, walk for two hours,” she told German newspaper Bild.

She also says she only feels like she’s 35, and her obstetrician says her 10th pregnancy was ‘largely uncomplicated’.

  • It is truly fascinating that menopause has not occurred and no doubt this will be of great interest to the wider medical community. This woman sounds incredibly fit and healthy and good on her for maintaining health and fitness. Staying fit and healthy is essential for health and well being.

  • Wow this is pretty amazing and pretty rare to be still so fertile at age 66 ! Looking at the picture you wouldn’t give her 66 years either. Healthy eating, a healthy lifestyle and to stay fit and healthy goes a long way for sure ! Being 61 years of age myself, my periods have long gone

  • Just wondering if she or hubby will see this child turn 21.

  • That is absolutely amazing! After reading the title I was fully expecting to read of another IVF story, but the fact that her body is still able to do this without the aid of science is unreal. I do think that she is probably getting to be a bit old for having children though. Realistically, no matter how healthy she is, she will likely live no more than 20 years and it could even be less than that. This child is not going to have the support of a parent the same as the child born to younger parents.

  • Wow … thats pretty awesome for her.
Im not as old as her as yet but not far off. I have three grown children but no grandchildren other then my partners grandchild. I like the fact that I dont have to worry about anyone else when we go away and such. I dont think i would want a baby at this point in life

  • I don’t know where she finds the energy, but if she and her family are happy, I’m happy for them.

  • Congratulations on your 10th child although how you manage with so many little ones wears me out just thinking about it. You must be so healthy and have the heart and body of a person half your age. I’m sure your other children will be only so happy to help out too.

  • This is amazing that she was still able to have a baby at her age. She must be so healthy to be able to do this. 10 kids is a big family so I am sure they all keep her very busy and on her toes all the time. How does she have enough energy at her age, I am in my 40’s and so tired with one kid lol

  • Congratulations mumma! That’s amazing! She must be super healthy to be able to concieve naturally and carry a baby at 66. I personally would not want to do it (assuming I was able) but each to their own. With 9 siblings this baby will never be short of love or family even if he loses his parents young.

  • That’s absolutely incredible that she can still go on and have healthy babies! It’s always a blessing having a baby but it’s also something to consider that you wont be there for them in their most important years too. And that was a big reason i wanted kids earlier on for them

  • I don’t understand how this mum has not yet gone through menopause at the age of 66 years. Is it even possible? In saying that good on her if that’s what she wanted although I feel it must be some miracle to conceive. I wonder if someone can explain this?

  • The age difference between the first 2 and then the rest of the children is pretty big. Would I want to have 10 children? NO! Obviously the father of the babies can provide for them all, so why not have a big family. Good luck to the mum, dad and the rest of the family. Some people are just meant to be mums. No matter what their age is.

  • Very happy to hear she could bring the little one into the world without any harm to herself or the bub. Really interesting age gap between the second and third babies. Hopefully she has a great support system for the future who can assist with the smaller ones as they are growing

  • Look, obviously it doesn’t work this way for most people. But much congratualtions to her, and I hope she finds it as easy to raise a toddler at this age as she evidently found pregnancy. I am not sure it’s a good idea to have a baby at that age, but if it’s loved and wanted, I’m not going to argue.
