Turn baby formula tins into craft tins.

Material

  • several baby formula tin
  • 1 patterned duct tape

Method

  1. Wash and dry empty baby formula tin.
  2. Measure around the tin with string, and then cut duct tape to length.
  3. Start at the bottom of the tin and wrap duct tape around carefully and repeat until tin is covered.

Notes

There are plenty of patterned tapes out there. I chose the duct tape varieties as it was wider and easier to work with. Tins are the perfect size for pencil, textas and just about anything else.

  • Ok this is a spectacular idea for a pencil/texta container! We never seem to have enough and none are as big as this. Looking at this gave me the instant idea of getting a baby formula tin, then once cleaning it after use, ok maybe everyone doesnt have spray paint in there house but I certainly do from the art projects I enjoy doing myself, you could spray them white on the outside and then your children could paint or draw on them to decorate them. Or you could paint them with brushes and acrylic paint. I’ve also got a tub of chalk board paint I bought ages ago I’ve never used, could do one in that and then children could decorate it with chalk. Never thought once of reusing a formula tin but they are a great size, great idea thank you for sharing!

  • Great project idea, with the amount of formula tins you can accumulate it’s good to find ways to reuse. They are a great size for storage.

  • I didn’t know you could get patent duct tape but this sounds like a good invention to decorate things that are broken haha. A nice use with the tins as well. Good to recycle
