Picnic Rug Car Mat - Arts, Crafts and DIY

A quick and cheap solution for an easy boot cover

Material

1 Rubber backed picnic blanket

Method

Trace your old car boot mat - (or lay the picnic blanket inside the boot of your car and trace the outline shape)
Cut your old picnic blanket to size
And voila.... Your new boot cover

Notes

We had a chunky boot cover that over time has ripped in places. We have a 7 seater car, so every time we put the back seats up, the mat was too big and heavy to move, so we ended up leaving it out of the car most times. I had a rubber backed picnic rug that was too heavy for picnics but thought it'd be perfect in the boot of the car. It fits perfectly and is easy and small enough to pack up when we need the extra seats. And it was so easy!

That is a great idea, we just use an old children’s bed sheet that has butterflies or trucks on them
