Still looking for the perfect spot for Mother’s Day lunch? KFC is hosting a Habanero High Tea boasting fried chicken, DJs and table dancing. Shut up and take my money.

If you’ve been looking for the perfect way to thank mum for all of the amazing things she does – or you want to drop a hint to the fam, make sure you share this finger-licking good news.

Sydney will this weekend play host to the world’s first KFC Habanero High Tea, with music, free-flowing Habanero Hot & Crispy, Popcorn Chicken, nuggets, chips and more.

And it’s all for a good cause.

KFC’s Habanero High Tea will take place on Sunday 11 May at Sydney’s Watsons Bay Hotel at 2pm, with limited tickets going on sale from today.

Tickets are available to adults 18+, priced at $50 each (plus a booking fee) and must be purchased in pairs. Profits from ticket sales will support Aussie youth’s mental health and wellbeing through the KFC Youth Foundation and its charity partners: Black Dog Institute and ReachOut Australia.

Grab your tickets here.

  • I love KFC but im not keen on anything thats super hot. I would give this a go though.
I tend to get KFC once a year when I get my car serviced because the KFC store is around the corner from where I get my car serviced and once i pick my car up and get home its late.

  • Of all the fast foods around KFC is possibly the only one I would occasionally eat. However, even given that fact, I couldn’t imagine anything worse for Mother’s Day. I prefer spending time with my children and they with me on this day of days, rather than going out somewhere and paying exorbitant fees to do so.

  • This is such a wonderful idea for a worthy cause. Unfortunately I live in WA but that doesn’t mean I can’t like the idea. Hope all of the Mum’s and others who attended had a fantastic time and enjoyed being spoilt and feeling extra special on the day. Great work KFC.

  • I have never liked KFC much, because it’s much oilier than most other fast food options. And I don’t like really hot or spicy things either. So I guess this is not for me, but for the right audience I bet it would be a lot of fun. I hope it was enjoyed!

  • A very reasonable price for something like this but the word Habanero stops me in my tracks. I’m not at all into spicy so I didn’t miss anything lol. It’s great to see so many different things popping up out there instead of the same old same old. I bet it was fun.

  • That’s actually a fairly reasonable price for high tea. I would expect more than just KFC chicken though. There should be some nice sweet treats in there too. It’s great that they are raising funds for charity too. That being said, I think a lot of mums might not go for spicy.

  • Honestly, even if I was a meat-eater (which Im not) this has zero appeal. Fast food spicy – no thanks! Table dancing, ditto. Each to their own, but it’s definitely not appealing as an event. Contributing to the Youth Foundation, Black Dog and ReachOut makes it slightly less unpalatable, but at the end of the day while it’s not for me, there are bound to be mums who would love it.

  • Im not in Sydney but it’d probably be a big pass from me anyway. I’m not a huge fan of KFC and I dont really like super spicy foods either. The only thing I do love about this high tea is that the profits are going to a good cause. 🙂

  • We have bought family meals at KFC for Mother’s Day in the past so this idea makes sense to me. I am happy to hear that profits will go to a good cause.

  • A great cause worth supporting but I am not too sure about all that KFC. You would need to love it enough to want to go for a high tea. I personally wouldn’t as it’s a bit too fatty for me but I know this would be so fantastic for those who do love KFC.

  • Yes I love their good cause and mental health is close to my heart, I have worked as a psychiatric nurse for over twenty years and fostered kids with mental health problems over a significant amount of time. It would be goo when more companies should follow indeed, they and we all can make a difference.

  • I really do hope lots of different food organisations and other organisations take on similar initiatives to support young people. It is so important for organisations to be responsible and to support the community and youth. It is such a good idea to raise a profile and to provide support.

  • I don’t eat KFC often (would love if they could use free range chicken and follow GYG’s initiative), but I love this idea. Something a little different and indulgent. And they have chosen to support really lovely charities that do a world of good. This had me at free flowing chippies and popcorn chicken. I would love to go if I was local

  • As a vegetarian fried chicken is of course not my thing and table dancing is probably not my thing either. But I do like it that the profit of the sale of the tickets goes to Aussie youth’s mental health and well being through the KFC Youth Foundation and their partners.. I didn’t even know that KFC has a Youth Foundation. A wonderful cause indeed !

  • I really do like to support charity events and morning tea, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner events are such fun to attend and good for the community. This event sounds like fun for those that enjoy eating KFC and also those that love to eat food with a spicy kick.

  • That’s definitely an interesting concept! Im not much of a spice tolerant person, this definitely doesnt sound like something id be keen to try. But im sure many others would love the chance. It’s such a fun and unique event for KFC to host. Im sure it would be one to enjoy!
