This woman is a professional bridesmaid and charges up to $10,000 per wedding to help brides organise their dream day.

It’s not a career path that most of us have considered, but for Tiffany Wright, being a ‘professional bridesmaid’ has provided to be a lucrative choice. After attending seventeen weddings in just two years, Tiffany saw just how stressful planning a wedding can be and decided to offer her expertise and guidance to brides-to-be as a bridesmaid for hire.

Keep Things Running Smoothly

Tiffany’s role is not what you’d expect of a traditional bridesmaid. While she has been an ‘actual bridesmaid’ seven times, she has taken on a more personal assistant type role in over 150 other weddings, often for people she has never met before. “Sometimes not having a personal or family connection to someone can be a bonus with some tasks,” she said. “For example, one bride’s parents had divorced and her dad wanted to bring his new girlfriend, who was a similar age to her, with him to the wedding and it was my job to break the news to her mum.” We think that Tiffany’s price tag suddenly seems a lot more reasonable when she’s thrown into the middle of family drama like that…

Crazy Requests

Even though most brides have been a pleasure to work with, Tiffany admits there have been a few memorable requests. On one occasion, she was asked to dye her hair to match the other bridesmaids, and in preparation for another ceremony, the bride requested that she motivate the rest of the wedding party to lose weight. She’s also been sent overseas as a bachelor party spy and tried on countless dresses in every shape and colour imaginable. Tiffany says she wouldn’t have it any other way. “It can be a difficult job at times, but it’s unique and I couldn’t wish for a better career – despite the bridezillas!”

  • WEll good for her. Its not something that I would want to do but its always good if you have a job that you love.

  • Good on her for making a business out of it.

  • For that price I hope she also does the invitations and table settings.
She might help make decisions as to the suitability of clothing.
Mediation between bridal parties (both ladies and males) and the same with the parents.
There may be a preference to seat or not seat some guests close to others. The people who know that know of circumstances could give a list if necessary and her work out the table settings
She should get the tables ready or employ somebody to do that out of her fee.

  • How creative! And, it also sounds like a lot of fun for the most part. Mind you, it sounds like Tiffany certainly works for her money.

  • Interesting idea and job. I’m not sure if I’d want a stranger as my bridesmaid but if it was more on the personal assistant side of things she would come in handy to have. Good on her for creating a job like that and for succeeding.

  • Good on her finding a need and filling it! I personally find it a bit strange having a stranger in not only your bridal party but also all your pictures. Imagine looking back in 20-30 years and wondering who that was and how you knew them?

  • Someone obviously needs it if there are jobs out there for it.

  • What a made up job. Who would paythat sort of money

  • Seriously – I can’t believe this is a THING!!! Surely having your best friends or family members as your bridesmaid makes your day special. a) I can’t even imagine having that much money to waste b) very impersonal!!!

  • I wouldn’t pay that but there is obviously a need. Would be a very interesting job.

  • I don’t think it’s worth the price however it would be a good job to have.

  • Certainly not something I’d try. Life is stressful enough for me as it is.

  • Sign me up!! I’d love to do this!

  • Wow, I think most of her clients would be bridezillas if they are willing to fork out $10k to hire her! Sounds like she has to put up with a lot!

  • If she does this job, it’s because there is a request from couples. Not something for me for sure though.

    Reply

  • Haha 170k over 2 years – I could live with that.

  • I thought that’s what wedding planners were for. I don’t think I could invite a complete stranger to be part of my wedding

    Reply

  • Um no, and it’s so impersonal. Who needs a professional bridesmaid? That’s just weird.

    Reply

  • I wouldn’t like to have a stranger as bridesmaid at my sight, but when it’s purely for organising and mediating I can understand it is handy. However you would have to swim in money to make the choice to use such facility.

  • THe stress would be so high. I could never do it
