BIG W Extends Toy Sale Lay-By Pick Up Date

BIG W has confirmed all Toy Sale 2023 lay-bys have been extended by two weeks, giving cash-strapped parents more time to finalise their Christmas purchases.

Toy Sale lay-bys were originally due to be picked up on November 1, to give staff more time to deal with lay-by pick ups in the busy period leading up to Christmas.

It prompted many panicked mums to take to social media over the past week, concerned that the increasing cost of living meant they wouldn’t be able to pick up their lay-bys on time, and risked having them cancelled.

However, chat in the BIG W MUMS AUSTRALIA group yesterday indicated there could be a change, and today BIG W confirmed the news to Mouths of Mums.

A BIG W spokesperson told Mouths of Mums:

“We know busy families need an extra hand this time of year, that’s why we’ve extended Toy Sale lay-bys until November 15.

“With an extra two weeks we hope it helps. All Toy Sale lay-bys need to be collected by November 15.”

The spokesperson also confirmed this extends to online lay-bys.

It comes not long after BIG W backflipped on its lay-by fee increase, which has been reduced back to $3, after being raised to $15 just before the Toy Sale.

Meanwhile, BIG W has release a new toy catalogue with huge discounts, with the sale starting on November 2.

We picked our layby up on the 1st of November but it’s nice to see they gave families that extra time. Let’s face it, hiding big presents for 2 months isn’t exactly easy for some parents.

Love that I can use the 10% off online again as I don’t have a Big W that I can visit locally. We have Xmas and birthdays coming up so the toy sale will be great!
