Buzz Lightyear Origin Story Set For Release

Our favourite Space Ranger is back in the origin story that has kids and adults alike excited to infinity … and beyond.

Buzz Lightyear, the loveable, somewhat gullible Toy Story character who won our hearts in the four original movies, stars in the Disney Pixar release: Lightyear. The movie fills in the backstory of Buzz, with Chris Evans taking over voice duties from Tim Allen.

The new film details Buzz’s rise through the Space Ranger corps ranks, as he becomes captain of the Universe Protection Unit. The Unit is tasked with fighting the evil emperor Zurg.

The film’s just-released teaser trailer has created a huge …well, buzz, with parents just as keen to see the movie as their kids. The first Toy Story movie was released in 1995, with Buzz mistakenly believing he’s a real Space Ranger and not a toy.

Lightyear is due for release in June 2022.

I work with special needs children and I have a 16yr old boy that I work with who is obsessed with Toy Story. he would love this

Was gonna say if this was out yet, but not until mid year. Bet it’ll be more adults attending than children. My husband loved Toy Story as a kid.

Love Toy Story! Each one has been a joy to watch. They haven’t lacked in content with multiple movies they’re all great. Looking forward to this one

My 2 older kids loved the Toy stories back then, but they’re a bit older now and probably not interested anymore. My 11yr old may like it and I wouldn’t consider it suitable for my nearly 8yr old.

Oh my…I can not wait for this to come out…oh and I’m sure my kids will love it to! The animation in it looks amazing.
