  • Miss 4 and Mr 2 love playing shops.
Counting the products on their playroom shelf is just tops.
    One, two, three, four.
Out little home shop encourages counting and so much more!
They love to focus their attention on the detail…
Counting bananas and telling me they’re on sale.

  • Get them learning books

  • I have tried to foster a love of reading and storytelling in my children. We have read and told stories together since day one. To have my toddler deeply engaged in the story, playing along, singing or dancing to the rises and falls of a story is absolutely briliant!

  • I involve them in the kitchen a lot, we count, measure, mix, taste and discuss where ingredients come from and now they are manufactured.

  • We get creativity in the kitchen. Doubling or tripling a recipe helps with Maths. Also the baking with science. We also get some art in decorating!

  • Let them pretend to be adults- vacuum, do the dishes- play shops- all handy for later in life!

  • We love going for drives and seeing signs and then seeing what letters they start with and then sounding out the sign.

  • We make up games that are secretly teaching the children to count, spell and read but they don’t realise it as they are having so much fun and think they’re just playing a game.

  • We count down to clean our room and we sing brush teeth songs to get our time rite!

  • We go for walks around the park and count how many puppy dogs we see.

  • Summer we have picnics AT THE B EACH, wINTER PICNICS ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF A ROARING LOG FIRE.

  • We go to the library and read books. Then each can pick 3 books to take home to enjoy over and over again. Then back in 2 weeks for new ones

  • We always play spelling games with everyday chores, so if i’m chopping veggies I ask the kids to name and spell the veggies.

  • We play boardgames during winter and also go for bike riding and play in the park if the weather permits. Thank you.

  • We play games to learn. Monopoly, yahtzee, cards. Games like that where we can throw in adding up etc.. while still making it fun and time with the family!

  • Lots of board games from ‘Snakes and Ladders’ to chess. They help kid’s brains develop in so many ways and they’re something that brings the family together.

  • We read alot of books. My boys love animals so we make the animal sounds, find the animals in the book, then go get the toy animal from their toy box to all match

  • We watch Youtube educational rhymes, then we switch it off and repeat them all day long. Singing as we bath, get dressed and before bed!

  • My kids and I use lego for learning where kids are secretly learning maths! The instructions are perfect for teaching step by step instructions which will be handy in the future for putting together flatpacks! Lego has endless imagination opportunities for my loved ones!

  • My 5 year old daughter is loving playing school at the moment so I have to be the teacher and she’s the student. I go through the letters of the alphabet and she gives me words which start with the particular letters. She’s also loving to try and spell words too!!
